Yes I agree with that for sure. He's the same blueprint from what I've seen.wildforthecats wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 12:58 pmHaha. I understand the confusion. In watching their film, I see Lanier more as a PG and Huffman more as a SG.
I think we'll see Carter with the majority of minutes at the point.

Maybe but I don't think so. I think Kellan will play some pg but I don't see him as the primary. I would be very surprised if Carter didn't start every game next year. You could see his feel for running the team growing as the season progressed.bvgerd wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 12:56 pmDepending on how things shake out, i could also see Kellan being our primary point guard with Carter being a sort of super sub/our sixth starter coming in early and often from the bench.Dr. Bliss wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 12:01 pmI thought the same thing.catborn'bred wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 11:47 amI am curious about WFTC's post. Hard to say, the lineup listed below is also a possibility:Dr. Bliss wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 1:50 pmMaybe but I don't think so. I think Kellan will play some pg but I don't see him as the primary. Grady
Frampton
Lee
Nelson/Sam
Luka
Many options. Let’s hope we are playing hoop sometime in 2020.

Does anyone know Huffman's height? (or have a rough estimate) This site lists him at 6'5, but I've seen 6'2/6'3 a lot.
Also, I didn't see it before but WFTC's comments make a lot of sense. I do think that Huffman has more raw athleticism than JAG though. Obviously how his shooting develops will be a key determinant in how good he gets, but the potential to be a difference maker is definitely there.

Davidson listed both Lanier and Huffman at 6-3 when the school announced their signings, along with Sam on January 17, 2020. BTW, Emory is 5-9 without the hair.BDL wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 3:12 pmhttps://www.prephoops.com/player/grant-huffman/

I hope Huffman and/or Lanier are/is able to earn a lot minutes at the PG spot. I think the team would benefit from a pass-first true PG with the handles to break pressure, the vision and ability to see and reward cutters, and the mindset of a facilitator.
I see Huffman as a quicker and springier Droney with JAG’s ability to attack. Lanier looks to have the better outside shot at present—I see him as potentially a JRich-type player. Both assessments are based on very limited information. Both receive a lot of praise for their toughness and leadership.
It should be fun to see Luke, Lee, and NBY get minutes together. All have good instincts and vision for cutting and/or passing.

6'3" or 6'4" seems right. But he jumps center for St Ed's. I saw a lot of Jay Powell in him. Also his demeanor a lot like Peyton. Let the game come to him. He had a lot more help then Peyton did in HS. If not I think he could have averaged over 30. His shooting guard just committed to Eastern Ky.
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Just read Acorn's comment. He mentioned a PG with the ability to see and get the ball to cutters quickly. Luke may not be a point guard but he can do that better than anyone else on our team. I think his knack for that is superb.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
I understood Bob to say something similar about Luke. For all of his league-leading 3-point shooting, his and Kishawn's passing were missed the most.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Luke’s passing and defense are really underrated (my kids can vouch for how strongly I believe this based on how frequently and how loudly yelled at announcers who described him as “mainly a shooter”). He is a basketball genius.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
I saw Chris Ford play in the 4A playoffs against my alma mater, Greensboro Grimsley (go Whirlies).
he strikes me as a kid with a good motor and a tough defender/rebounder, but his shot needs work (very small sample size). I don't care, we have enough shooters. I want a tough, athletic kid and the bonus is he is local. I think he is in the No. Meck IB program.
He can work on his shot. and he seems to be the kind of kid who will work hard, by all accounts.
He would be a good addition.

I know they’re called highlights for a reason, but it looks like he can get to the rim whenever he wants. You can do a lot worse than a right handed Jordan Barham.
