I am usually a pessimist regarding Davidson Basketball but I would put considerable money on the fact that we will be ranked pre-season next year. I think we have enough national pedigree and should have a strong enough season with basically the whole roster returning. Obviously I would love for us to have a great season this year, but I think net year will be something even more special. |
And we will get Mike Jones back and add a 6'10" Great Dane. _________________ "We should've thrown our number 7 pitcher against Davidson......" Post by Tar Heel baseball fan 16 minutes into the game. |

The meeting where the A10 discusses booting La Salle and Fordham would be interesting. La Salle might suggest that every member without a NCAA title be placed on probation. The Explorers were in the NCAA Tournament as recently as 2013, so the conference will be receiving NCAA appearance money from their efforts through 2019.
La Salle has lost close games to Drexel, Bucknell, and Lafayette, who they expect to beat. They've also played Villanova and Temple, fellow Big Five schools. La Salle has played the 26th most difficult schedule in the NCAA this year. They've played several road/neutral floor games. They have a winnable game against Alabama A&M coming up.
The problem with Fordham is they are historically bad. Their last NCAA appearance was in 1992, when they won the Patriot League's bid. Before that, it was in 1971. Football costs them a fortune. When Fordham was admitted, it was thought the conference needed a New York City school to garner media attention. The conference has done fine with Fordham being under the radar.
No conference expels a member for being bad in one sport. Schools are removed for cheating, dropping required sports, or refusing to play for conference championships (Davidson in the SoCon). Fordham and La Salle will need to leave voluntarily. That's not happening for a long time, if ever. |
