Here's my scholarly thoughts on this game:

Devontae Cacok is a dick, and I'm about to thoroughly enjoy watching him devour this L.

I'm tending to agree, and almost posted same earlier.

I'm sure we'd love him if he was on our team, but I agree. He's a jerk on the court.

Uh, no. When we beat them at our place last year, he reminded me of a taller and less-talented Kyle Hines. Very good inside of 5 feet, almost useless outside of it. I saw the same tonight. If you are going to go as far as a guy like Cacok can take you, you'll not go far.

You'd be a fool if you didn't want Cacok on your team. He personally put your whole front court in foul trouble and put UNCW in the bonus, while putting up 19 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. He led the nation in FG%, then in rebounds back to back, and is top five in double doubles this year. If, somehow, he leads the nation in double/doubles this year, he'd be the first player in NCAA history to have led the nation in three different categories. And, he's not a dick in person or on the court. He's a competitor and he is roughed up in every game because he is a huge threat.

As to the game, your coach did a fantastic job in the second half of adjusting your game plan. We have smaller guards who can't stop the drive, and your guards scored or drew fouls alomst every time, espectially the last six minutes. That, after a first half when you hadn't taken a FT until the last three minutes.

We kept cheating to stop penetration and we paid. I kept telling the guy next to me that the one shooter we couldn't leave was #34. And, sure enough, he went 5-10 from three and hit some clutch shots that kept us at a distance.

You have some fantastic guards. Your weakness is going to be in the post. Your big man is good on offense but doesn't have the strength to pound the boards yet and your other big men aren't an offensive threat at all.

It was a fun game to watch. Offense was on display. Came down to FT's. You guys went 16-20 in the second half and we were 7-12.

Game

Hope those of you who traveled enjoyed a good basketball atmosphere. Trask is still a fun place to watch a game.

So I'm a fool. I wouldn't want a player with that on-court demeanor just because he can produce double-doubles. I see a very limited player. Excellent right at the rim, but no range and a poor passer. When I made a comparison to Kyle Hines, that's pretty high praise. Hines has made a ton of money playing overseas. He really improved his game after graduation from UNCG. Cacok could be similarly successful if he adds some more skills. And he has several inches on Hines.

I still think he should have been ejected for that play near the end of the half. There is no place for that in basketball. At least the refs reviewed it and called the flagrant foul. That helped put Cacok on the bench at the right time for the Wildcats to win.

Love that stuff. It would be awesome to have that after every game.

I liked Bob's pleasant surprise at the 3-point percentage.

Maybe so. Then he handled the question well.

Seconded. Coach McKillop also made a point to call out Cacock for his dives in his postgame. Don't hear that too often.

Whoa. The NY football giants are a really poorly coached team. That's just some scary ugly coaching in the final couple of minutes.

And the Titans unis were always ugly. They changed them this year to uglier. I dint think that was possible.

Yes...imagine the uniforms that were rejected for the one that was chosen?

I agree, most programs offer but we do not for some reason.

And there's no way they'll suspend the floppy Cacok for the game at UNC on Wednesday.

Too late to transfer to Duke, or it could be his audition.
