But TC, how long does it have to be an excuse (not saying of you, but of someone, somewhere) that Davidson doesnt have enough people to operate? I mean good grief every other school figures out a way to do it!

I mean, davcat37 texted me last night that the feed looked like someone was showing the game on FaceTime and that the scoreboard on the screen looked like Nintendo! Eventually in situations like these, people can lose interest, and then you see the type of falling off of fans that we are seeing.

I'm sure CC will get this fixed.

I don't disagree, but my point is....well, actually where we point. We can't sit there and point the finger at the very people who are doing everything they can with limited funds and resources.

We are asking ticketing and marketing to fill the seats, yet they don't have a budget to market. We complain that the lights are a problem, yet did anyone ask if they were given the budget for the proper number of lights and/or a timeline to put lights where they should be? Or were they asked to fit a square peg in a round hole?

When there is a problem with streaming or a camera we complain, but do we realize that the person asked to fix the problem, may be the same person sitting behind the scorers table trying to keep stats, or the person in the media room trying to put graphics up on the videoboard.

ac3983 and i77cat, I know you realize what I am saying as well as anyone, but they are not the ones to move the needle. People at a different level need to make that a priority right along with scholarships, etc. We know how slow that has moved.

We have a frustrated team of people who try to smile and make the most of it.

We all understand the realities, but there is no sense in pretending that the current reality is acceptable. We finally have someone to direct our athletic department. I'm sure he's up to the task. He may have to ruffle some feathers. That's okay. Fans having to wear sunglasses and hats to games because we created a lightning problem isn't okay. Poor quality on our ESPN+ broadcasts isn't okay. Poor traffic flow in the arena because we cordon off an area for a stats table isn't okay. We can do better.

I like Justin. I miss his podcasts. I like Jared latch. If we are stretched for funds do we need competing tv and radio feeds? Couldn’t we get one really good audio that worked for both?

I have seen very little blame. Not publicly. Privately, I've heard blame assigned about the lighting problem, but I've yet to see it in a public version. We can talk about areas that need improvement without blaming specific individuals. Our people do what they can with very limited resources. Let's get them more resources.

YASSSSSS.

I mute my TV and sync my tunein feed so I can watch the few pixels we have and listen to Jared tell me what I can't see. JP might be fantastic, but with the video quality as bad as it is, I need a play-by-play commentator who doesn't expect me to be able to see what's happening on screen.

TC my point and I think i77 as well was not “current operators stink” but “whoever is making he call to underfund this area needs to make the call to not underfund this area.”......

I get it. I know you get it. Certainly realize Sink gets it. Just ranting for others that don't necessarily get it. I'm within earshot of too many of those folks.

I watched the women's game vs High Point on ESPN+. The audio I got with the ok video was Derek. Somebody there knows how to combine resources.

And, what, they are complaining about people thinking that they aren't doing their best? We have to improve the product. If that means that some cages have to get rattled, that's okay. I'm pretty sure everyone gets it. We're poor, we're small, we're accustomed to being "led" by someone who put out little effort. It'll get better. Maybe. Until then, TOK has plenty of room to store his coat, parking is easy, and you can invite people to sit basically wherever they want. Anyone want to guess the attendance and energy level of the huge game coming up with Losethrop? Or Central Penn? We'll have about 6 weeks of good attendance starting in mid-January. Personally, I don't know why we don't fill every seat for every game. The team is a blast to watch. And it is only getting better.

Re: the negative comments about ESPN+: to a man dying of thirst, even a thimbleful of water is something. The last couple of years I completely gave up on trying to watch the feed from the A-10 site.

For the most part, the ESPN+ feed has worked for me--not perfectly, and there were glitches in the last game. However, for the price, I'm pretty happy with it.

Plus I really enjoy being able to re-watch the games.

Amen.

I’m not against improvements, however.
