| Take out UNC in the NCAA tournament and I know a couple of people here who will be wearing Zag t-shirts soon thereafter. |

I think that was the play that the announcers were sure there was a foul. They never could get anything definitive to show on the replay, though.

A great bar argument is whether boxing’s decline can be traced to Tyson’s downfall or Cosell’s death. Went to boxing in the ‘96 Olympics. Three rounds of hitting biceps. Nothing compared to a Cosell-called Teofilo Stevenson snot knocker.

One day in Charleston Tim switched on the TV, as is is wont, and on TCM was an old movie I hadn't seen before, but because of the saxophone I instantly recognized as Here Comes Mr. Jordan, a boxing movie that was remade as Heaven Can Wait, starring Warren Beatty (not to be confused with the unrelated Don Ameche film by that name). Having watched the Beatty version several times over the years, I was able to tell that the script was little changed from the original I was now seeing.
It is telling that the boxing movie was remade as a football movie.

Among the many things that make me go, "Hmmmm."
Many are rising up against football for it's violence and potential for creating CTE, while so little current attention is paid to boxers or MMA participants, whose goal is, in fact, to beat one another's best brains out. Maybe the honesty of the pursuit confers immunity from condemnation...? |
