Nice win. It is unusual for us to get off to a good start. Before irrational exuberance sets in, let's remember it's still November.
I was sure wong about Grady. The good news is I doubt if he forgot how to shoot. |

I thought the same thing. His first step lacked its usual quickness, and some of his shots were way off. _________________ "We should've thrown our number 7 pitcher against Davidson......" Post by Tar Heel baseball fan 16 minutes into the game. |

Happily, Grady won't brood very long before it's go time again. |

Frampton was 2-7 from 3.
If he is regularly 3-7 from three, we’ll be in good shape. The line between great and bad on three point shooting is thin.
JAG was 12-13 from the line. The rest of the team: 0-1
That will be Kellan’s worst shooting night of the year. _________________ This is a post by BDF, not BDL. |

Started listening as soon as son's HS game ended. About 3 min to go. Radio left me hanging several times.
Just under 2 min, best I can remember -- WS guy "looking to shoot a three... These guys are not shy... He's 1-10 from three tonight... 1:09 to play Wildcats' ball. [oh good, they must have missed and someone on our team apparnetly got the rebound and we now are dribbling in the frontcourt. With a min to go in a nailbiter I'd kinda like to have heard how it happened.]
But it sure is fun to let off a tad bit of frustration with a big W in hand. Whew.
Kept checking ESPN gamecast. Didn't look pretty by the numbers. Coach said we played good defense. Glad to hear it. _________________ "Then they started making 3s. A lot of 3s. We're talking more 3s than a bad dating site." |

I don’t have a wizard’s memory to recall all of our shots.
I remember that one. _________________ This is a post by BDF, not BDL. |

It's a setup for Purdue.
I tried that once during an intramural basketball game. During warmups I used my left hand exclusively. Wasn't pretty. The other guys took notice.
First possession I brought the ball up the court (still with my left). The guy waiting for me at the top of the key was practically salivating. He was somewhat surprised when I switched hands and went right.
Finished with a cool 2 points on 1-7 shooting.

Davidson made its last 14 shots (FTs and FGs combined) at Montana that night. |

Drinking alone at the Francis Marion hotel bar, lite beer, wifi, and dcats. Too bad election season is over, this is senatorial shxt right here. Kinda miss the North Charleston colessium, sure my car was broken into every now and then, but we always won and if thieves wanted hall and Oates greatest hits on cassette that bad they were welcome to it. One fat, bloated, pale midwestern dinosaur slain, onto the next. Times like this reenforce my personal commitment to the browning of America. In the immortal words of Oliver cromwell,

No risk of irrational exuberance, just well deserved exuberance. This win was almost impossible, yet JAG disagreed, and simply carried us solo on his back to victory - on to the Boilermakers. _________________ All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for men of good will to do nothing. I think Leo Amery repeated the lines at Chamberlain in 1940. |

Second straight improbable win after slow starts. I love the heart of this team.
I do hope Grady has more success creating his own shot against Purdue and that we see more production in the post from our bigs. As far as defense goes, I'd take another big helping of what we did tonight. Locked it down in the second half!
First time in a tournament winner's bracket since when?
Great, gutty win. _________________ "He scores 30 points and he thinks he can call me Bob." |
