Seems like a pretty blatant attempt to highjack a thread here. It's one thing to start talking about Springsteen on a lighting thread; another entirely to seemingly attempt to change the subject away from a student's threatening and racist overtones by bringing up the controversial remarks a non-student celebrity made in other venues.
Linda Sarsour is no doubt controversial and perhaps dangerous. But she's not a student, and she's not on campus. And action doesn't need to be taken to expel her--we can just not invite her back.
Very different subject indeed.

There were references on the thread about "Davidson's racist past," and about the tragedy in Pittsburgh and the remembrance of Kristallnacht. I thought it might be a thread that at least touched on the subject of the school's relationship to anti-Semitism. Given the school's refusal to confront an anti-Semite terrorist sympathizer when she was invited to campus last year, it certainly seemed relevant to me.

I'm not smart enough to solve peace in the middle-east (by a long shot), but i'm well enough read to know the speaker you elude to is either a persecuted advocate for a marginalized Palestinian minority or a raging anti-Semite, depending on whom you ask. my spidey (RIP stan lee) sense starts a tingling when certain issues/topics come out. The best I can give in these trying times of woe and want is peace on this message board
