I have already casually pitched this general idea to a few folks with clout in the athletic department and it's still rough, but wanted to share this here in light of the attendance problems.
Most of, if not all of, your most passionate fans with skin in the game are your season ticket holders. These are the folks that have the following:
-the most knowledge of the program as a whole
-the most familiarity with the players and coaches
-personal stories of their connection to the program or an experience they have had
-and importantly, the trust of the people they are talking to
These (we) are the people equipped with the ability to authentically sell this product. I'm sure most of us already do. But why not push more of us to do it even more frequently?
Tiered levels of rewards for referrals of new season ticket holders (chairback or SRO).
Everything from Above The Rim beer tickets, to signed merch, to an expense paid trip for two to the A10 tourney.
Refer X new SRO ticket holders, receive Y (or receive Z referral points)
Refer Z new chairback ticket holders, receive Y (or receive Z referral points)
Obviously it is going to be tough to cold convert to Season Ticket holders but that's what makes the $50 SRO ticket a great option for this. Or perhaps a specific 2-3 game mini pack.
Maybe you have a special $10 2-game mini pack or something.
Achieve certain levels of points to unlock perks or prizes.
Most points achieved in defined time period wins trip for 2 to A10 Tourney.
etc.
Again it would need to be fine tuned but I'm just thinking out loud here trying to help find a solution. The people with the highest chance of converting new fans are the fans that care the most! Why not leverage this and reward people in an effort to get boots on the ground and make this a collective effort to make Belk Arena the toughest place to play in the A10 and beyond. |

As someone who lives far enough away that season tickets are impractical, I would love to see some version of the FBC for out of town folks. Maybe it could include some form of video version of the FBC gameday experience and, for those of us that live in A10 cities, tickets for local games. I am sure our new AD is thinking about these kinds of things and I would expect he is happy to hear ideas. |

I am one of those out of towners who has season tickets more to support the program fiscally (and I have a grandson in Concord so a good reason to visit). I try to use the ticket donation feature of the athletic office, but I do forget a lot. What if they cut a deal with a local establishment where those abandoned tickets were either sold or given to patrons in some kind of promotion? Better point of sale opportunity than the on campus ticket office. _________________ "That light he has is not green, it's fluorescent."

Not to hijack the thread, but I feel part of my duty is to bring others to the games as I can. Every season, graveline and I bring about eight others down from Greensboro for a game. I'll also bring my parents down for a game or two. I probably take more than I give (Layup Lagers on me), but again, bodies in seats.
Please continue to visit and use the Ticket Exchange thread. It's still a manual process- send email or call ticket office and have them write the name on an envelope at will call. I know- they are happy to do this. |

It will be easier to find people willing to go to games during the week next year. The construction on I-85 and I-77 should be complete by then.
During the '16-'17 season, I left downtown Charlotte about 5:45 to go to a 7:00 game. I arrived at halftime. |
