Agreed, 100 percent. I'm guessing the AD might have some thoughts on improving this part of the game-day experience. Just give him some time to get there.

I was fortunate to spend about 10-15 minutes discussing Davidson sports with AD Clunie at a recent football function. I was impressed with his energy level but more interestingly he stopped me several times when I used the old (this is tough to do at small, lowly Davidson) excuse. He pointed out that Davidson athletics and the college do so many things the "right way" that it was now time to take a leadership role and quit making excuses. I wish him the best and he had some very good ideas. I hope he has access to many of our comments because I am hopeful things will get done. There is no reason why we can't lead in Academics and Athletics. 
I had a few classmates who parlayed jobs working at the student union into quite successful music/entertainment careers. I could see sports production opportunities providing opportunities for the future as well.

Wild: I believe the Cats will get better as they gel. "Soft" ....I just think Cleveland State pretty much did what ever they wanted. They were poor at it at times but I don't think the Cats took them out of rhythm or put much pressure on them outside or inside.
I use the Moe Allie Cox litmus test now. We all know sooner or later we face some opponents that have that type of beast inside. Ekwu might be the answer but I would like to have a couple more "Caveman" clones.

Having both Nate and Dusan last night was huge. It won't be the last time Luka gets in fouls trouble this season. |

Looking at box score (didn't see game) -- the difference is pretty clear. Second chance points. We had 20 to their 1. Pretty much the difference there.
Looks they shot the ball better than we did. Except for Kellan and Luke, we didn't shoot all that well. Most glaring number was JAG at 1-9 inside the arc. I assume he struggled to finish on drives? I'm guessing instead of powering strong and high to the rim, he was falling toward the baseline? But he shot the 3 well. He led the team in total shot attempts.
Rebounding numbers and A/tO look good. Nice win by the numbers all things considered.

According to their website, VCU has over 31,000 students. How many living alumni do we have, not that many I'd guess. |

Add total students plus VCU alums living within a one hour drive of their gym. Number has to be well over 100,000.
Davidson students plus DC alums living within a one hour drive of Belk (and does South Charlotte at rush hour count as being with a one hour drive?). Not sure of the number, but I suspect it's a bit less than VCU's.

At one point a few years ago, Davidson had approximately 17,000 living alumni living across the globe (I don't recall where I read this). For comparison's sake, around the same time UNC Chapel Hill had 17,000 alumni just in Charlotte. |

We may not have the alums in the Davidson area but Lake Norman/North Charlotte has to be one of the fastest growing markets with spendable income. Cats need to tap into that.
I live in Charlotte and if I did not check the website or Facebook, I would not know they are playing.
