1974

Was on a double date for Blazing Saddles. Our catcher was laughing so hard during the campfire bean eating that he actually slid out of his chair into the aisle and rolled on the floor holding his sides. That Brooks guy is good. I'd always thought it was just an expression, but he made it happen.

The only time I've ever seen people laughing harder was when my 4 year old nephew got bored holding the ring during my brother's wedding and tried moon-walking before exploring behind the curtains, the pulpit, etc. before spreading out on the steps for a nap.

And this is why I refuse to go to weddings if kids aren't invited. I've never laughed harder than at the antics of children acting like children in church.

I saw Blazing Saddles with a couple guys from our youth group. One told me later that no one believed him that he had seen it with his preacher.

Wasn’t it Star Trek V that was especially terrible? During the campfire scene, all I could think was the one from Blazing Saddles.

I was an usher in a wedding a few weeks ago. Children were not invited. My antics were sufficiently childlike.

These days the couple’s children are often part of the wedding.

True that.
