We play VPI Tuesday night in a match that affects only our seeding in the NCAA Tournament.

We have 2 conference matches remaining. One is at home versus George Mason and the other is at Duquesne.

If we win either match, we clinch a top 4 finish in the A10 and a home match in the first round of the Tournament. We are 2nd now and 3 schools cannot pass us if we win another match.

Ideally, we would be matched up against St. Louis in that first round match. We can eliminate them and turn the Championship in St. Louis into a neutral field event.

Very disappointing last 3 games. A tie against a ranked VPI team was sandwiched between shutout home losses in conference matches. We demonstrated the ability to play heads-up with a top team. And we failed on opportunities to finish strong in the A10.

With 13 points and one more game to play, we are safely in the tournament, but we need to beat Duquesne at their place Wednesday to guarantee a first-round home game. If we lose, the worst we can do is tie for 6th place with Dayton, and since we beat the Flyers, we would get the 5th seed. A tie against Duquesne would also likely result in a #5 seed. In the case of a loss or tie, we could still hold onto the #4 seed if St. Joe's beats or ties St. Louis. What we don't want is for St. Louis to pass us into the 4th seed so that we would play them at their place in the 1st round.
