I’m using Safari on my phone in DFPH listening to the Loch Norman Pipe Band playing out in the lobby as I await the Jamie Laval concert. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

That was ugly. We're too good to give up a goal like that. And coming back from an early deficit is tough when you've scored 2 goals in the last 5 games. _________________ "McKillop is a gentleman. He could have played 'name that score' if he so desired."---St Joe's fan |

Excellent concert. It could just as easily be called the Rosemary Warren-Green concert. She was outstanding, and I'm not sure many people are aware of her musical accomplishment and international reputation. We listened to WDAV on the way home, and they played a recording by a string quartet that included Nigel Kennedy and Rosemary Warren-Green. The Loch Norman Pipe Band was very good, and I was mesmerized by the tenor drummer's twirling mallets. DCSO did a good job, too, especially the members who volunteered to jam with Mr. Laval on the last number. All around fun evening. _________________ "We should've thrown our number 7 pitcher against Davidson......" Post by Tar Heel baseball fan 16 minutes into the game. |

I didn’t see you there. Christopher Warren-Green sat two rows directly in front of me. The viola tone was amazing. People around me were saying they didn’t know one could sound that good. I couldn’t recall her maiden name, and then they said it on WDAV. Until recently Rosemary was still using it professionally. She’s an equally good violinist. She was the concertmaster on some movie soundtracks, including some of the LOTR films, as I recall.
I was thinking of the tedium of my humdrum existence, in less than a week attending the Joshua Bell concert; a Baroque concert featuring period instruments, a solo on a dulcian (first I’ve ever heard), and appropriate readings from Mark Twain; and then the concert last night. Then there were the choral rehearsals, bridge, etc.
It was too wet to mow the rest of the lawn this morning, so I had about decided to go buy either a new car or an Apple Watch (having already bought the lens I was going to get myself). But my introverted nature really needed the quiet day at home chilling out and reading instead. After all there are major parties to attend the next couple of days, and I want to be back in a sociable mood. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |
