Before he invented underwear.

Tommy John was the Athletic Director at Charlotte Christian High school when Bobby Jones was hired as Basketball Coach. The Currys were impressed by Jones's coaching philosophy and Christian lifestyle and sent their sons to Charlotte Christian to be coached by him. He had moved on to be the Athletic Director before the Currys finished playing there.
