VPI defeated FSU 24-3 in Tallahassee tonight. VPI's next 3 games are at home against W&M, East Carolina, and Old Dominion. ODU was spanked by Liberty this weekend.
VPI hosts Notre Dame in a non-conference game. Their remaining ACC road games are at Duke, Chapel Hill, and Pitt. VPI's fans may outnumber the home teams' fans at those games.
The Hokies host Virginia, Miami, BC, and Georgia Tech.
Davidson fans are expected to be in Wilmington on 12/1/18 to see the men's hoops team play UNCW. Maybe we can rent our houses to VPI fans for the ACC Championship.
Our last football win over a P5 opponent was against the Hokies. |

Hopefully, someone will put a stop to the Chokies defense from faking injury. Extra unethical there Gobblers. |

Old Dominion got $1.2 million for the spanking. _________________ www.DavidsonPhotos.com

Why did they have to pay that much? Were they having a tough time getting opponents? It looks like they are playing New Mexico State twice. _________________ "They were energized by this move to the A-10. How could you not be?" McKillop said. "The tree is filled with a lot of presents." |

New Mexico State and Liberty are FCS independents. They have trouble finding opponents, especially when the FCS teams are playing conference matchups.
FCS teams must play at least 6 FCS opponents. There's nothing to prohibit Liberty and NMSU from playing twice. It's a smart move to help them get to 6 FCS wins.
To be bowl eligible, a FCS team must have 6 FCS wins. There's an exception that allows a team to count a win over a fully funded FBS team every few years.
Go to Liberty's website and look at their future schedules. They have home games against VPI, Virginia, UNC-CH, and Duke.
PS. There's a reference in the linked article to ODU probably winning the game. They fell a little short, 52-10. |

I think Gardner-Webb gets $300k + in a couple years. Seems like a good deal since they have been getting nothing for playing them these past few years. _________________ www.DavidsonPhotos.com

I wonder what our new coach & AD feel about playing some "money" games.
I would love to see 1 big money game, an easy win, and an Ivy fill up our OOC games. _________________ "They were energized by this move to the A-10. How could you not be?" McKillop said. "The tree is filled with a lot of presents." |

I think you will get your wish in the somewhat near future. |
