Maybe. There are way more jobs in professional basketball. If you are the 10th best player in the world in both sports, then you have a tough choice. If you are 10,000th best player in both, play basketball.

Perhaps. But a good 6'6"ish PF can make a good living in pro ball overseas with considerably less risk of his brain turning to mush.*. **.

*Google Noah Dahlmann and Kyle Hines if you doubt me.

**Barkley is the one recent PF in the NBA under 6'7". He was a freak.

he can play basketball for us then turn pro in the NFL as a TE! First NFLer at Davidson. Problem solved.
Realistically every major big10 school will say hell play QB and then he'll show up and they'll point to tight end or defensive end/linebacker groups.

Steve Heckard played in the '60s for the Rams with Roman Gabriel and Bucky Pope, the Catawba Claw. Heckard caught 6 passes for 106 yards.

Johnny Mackorell played for the Giants in the '30s.

Kevin Donnalley started at Davidson in the '80s before transferring to UNC-CH.

Do I remember correctly that Wayne Huckel got a try-out with someone?

Mike Kelly played tight end for three plus years for the Cincinnati Bengals, whereas Wayne Huckel failed a physical given him by the Dallas Cowboys - bad back.

Looks like our first (public) 2019 offer of the summer is a power wing/undersized skilled 4 from Minnesota, David Roddy. Really thickly built kid, still deciding whether or not he wants to play basketball or football: https://www.prephoops.com/2017/09/recruiting-report-david-roddy-2019-2/

And here’s a segment from a local station on him: https://youtu.be/Xd_mFFJt24c

Love to see him in red & black.

And Breck is a great high school. Isn't a current member of the football team from Breck?
Unless I overlooked them, I found no one on the roster from the Gopher state.

Graydon Kulick on 2015 he was on the roster as a QB from Breck. I guess he isn't on the team anymore
