Coach Gayle's Scouting Report: “Cassidy comes to us with a reputation of being an incredible teammate, and a supreme competitor. Her time as a developmental player with the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL, and her national and international level opportunities have provided her a great deal of high performance experience that should translate well to the college game. On the court, Cassidy is a versatile player that has the promise to play multiple positions for us. She can score in a variety of ways, is a terrific passer of the ball, and a tenacious and physical defender.†_________________ Sit vis nobiscum |

Great news. Welcome, Cassidy!
5-9 guard. Crazy good stats over 5 games in the FIBA U17 Oceania tournament. E.g., 18 assists against 3 turnovers.

Cassidy was not a starter on the U17 team, and most of the Oceania teams were not very competitive. New Zealand was one team that was competitive.
Edit: Upon further review, Cassidy played most of her 5+ minutes against NZL in the second quarter, while the score was still close. She then did not play in the 2nd half, even when Australia had control of the game and was substituting more freely. Probably a good reason, and probably nothing to worry about.
So, here... have some more Kool-Aid:

My first thought: we need a post player, why another guard. We have several other guards that seem to have similar traits. Then, I thought, well, so does our men's team and that is working out pretty well. Best case scenario, from my tainted point of view, is that despite needing a post we signed this guard so she must be really good. |

The WNBL is the top league in Australia. Cassidy's new league, the SEABL, is one of the next best and is arguably *the* next best.
This is the inaugural SEABL season for Cassidy's team, the Diamond Valley Eagles. YouTube has DV's first ever SEABL game, which took place this past weekend:

DV is the orange team. I believe that Cassidy is #32. It's tough to make out numbers and faces. The Eagles got walloped by the Bendigo Lady Braves in this game. However, in their second ever SEABL game, the Eagles in turn walloped the Sandringham Sabres by almost the exact same score.
Their third game is tomorrow, Friday the 13th, at 7:30 pm UTC+10. You can watch it live on YouTube... at 5:30 am EDT. Or wait for the replay.

Cassidy is averaging about 23 minutes per game, playing mostly with and against women in their early to mid twenties. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |
