2 pm, Saturday, our place.

#56 at #215. 14%. 76-64.

Dayton is 15-4 overall, 8-0 in the A10. They are 3-3 against the top 100. Best win was against #39 Virginia. Worst loss was at #102 Toledo.

Talented, balanced team. 5-8 G Jenna Burdette averages 15.4 ppg and shoots 44% from deep. 5-10 G Jayla Scaife is at 15.0 ppg and 5.4 rpg. 5-8 G Lauren Cannatelli is at 12.7 ppg. 5-11 G JaVonna Layfield contributes 11.7 ppg and 12.6 rpg. 6-3 C Alex Harris chips in 8.1 ppg and 7.9 rpg. Three other players average double-figure minutes.

45% 2FG, 38% 3FG, 71% FT. Plus 7 on the boards.

I've seen only a bit of one of their games, the opening minutes of their 2nd half against GW, who they made look pretty ordinary.

Go Cats!

I will be there to see these fine Wildcats play and join in the celebration of retiring of a jersey. A pregame visit to Whit's frozen custard has become a wftc ritual.

Wildcat great Jen O'Brien's jersey will be retired during halftime: http://bit.ly/2DI7wMy

This morning's @DavidsonWBB Gameday tweet today chose to use a pic of Justine. Maybe we get her back in the lineup today?

Starters, per Twitter and per new and revamped Live Stats... Katie, Saadia, Justine, Ally, Mackenzie.

Kyla back in uniform and warming up with the team.

1st qtr, both teams man-to-man.

Under 5 timeout, 8-7, Cats. Plus 7 on the boards, including 6 orebs and 4 second chance points. Burdette has all 7 of Dayton's points. We're getting good looks so far.

End of 1st qtr, 17-12, Dayton. Burdette has 12. Lotsa high ball screens from the Flyers, nothing fancy but they're getting good shots. Burdette has split our hedge on the screen several times and gotten directly into the lane. Justine with 6, three other Cats have scored.

2nd qtr, under 5 timeout, 25-21, Dayton. Missed some bunnies, missed some FTs, we could be ahead. Dayton is hitting the offensive board harder now, picking up some 2nd chance points. We're doing a good job attacking the basket on the dribble.

Halftime, 32-29, Dayton, after the multiple-lucky-bounces-last-second three by Burdette. Nice comeback though, we led by 2 at one point. Cats were able to speed up the Flyers and take advantage. Flyers are taking away the 3-point line -- only 3 attempts for us, and 0 makes.

Justine has 9. Katie has 8, all of it in the paint. Saadia and Sarah each with 4.

** Mackenzie has 7 rebounds. She is now #3 on the all-time list. She also has 1 block, so that makes five WBB Wildcats who have 100 or more career blocks.

I have to say, I'm loving the new Live Stats. You can actually see what is going on with just about everything in the game on one screen. And the stats are displayed as numbers, not those annoying line graphs where you have to remember which team is which color and control the scrolling because not everything fits on one page.

Please please tell me this is a harbinger of a similar clarity of format change coming to the entire athletics website. I am sure there must be a worse website that I go to somewhere, but I cannot place it off the top of my head.

You can take your time with the answer though. I won't be holding my breath.

Unable to watch. We have gotten to the line, but have yet to hit a 3.

3rd qtr, 42-37, Dayton. Burdette is killing us, she has 21. Cats are substituting a lot, keeping fresh.

3:27 left, 49-41.

1:16, Katie finally hits a 3-ptr for us, 49-44. Mackenzie has 8 this qtr, 10 for the game.

End of 3rd qtr, 55-44, Dayton. Two late threes by the Flyers. Burdette has 27 now,

4th qtr, 8:38, 61-46. Dayton with a barrage of treys over the last few minutes. Cats pressuring full court now.

Burdette hitting 70% from the trey fouls up about everything

6:04, 66-54. Cannatelli has also warmed up from deep this half. Double-double for Katie, points and rebounds.

4:09, 70-59, Cats still pressuring, getting some turnovers.

2:28, 79-65. Dayton now handling the press, getting easy looks and converting. Mackenzie has 14 this half.

** Final, 85-68. Really good 2nd half shooting by the Flyers. 13-28 from deep for the game, and 9-13 after halftime.

Terrific game for Katie against a strong team, 16 pts, 11 rebs/4 orebs, 3 asts, and 2 stls. Mackenzie also with 16 pts, plus 9 rebs, 2 asts, 2 stls and 1 blk.

Justine had 15 pts, and Sarah with 11 pts and 6 rebs/3 orebs -- seemed like more, she was very tough inside against taller players today.

Davidson won the boards, 42-37, including 18 orebs. Also won turnovers, 16-11. Good 40-minute effort from us, Dayton just better today.

Next up, at Rhode Island on Wednesday.

Very nice crowd. Cats hung in there for almost the whole game. Congrats to Jen!
