An update on Hunter Tyson, which does not make me overly optimistic: http://www.umhoops.com/2017/05/04/hunter-tyson-talks-michigan-interest-upcoming-visit/

He is visiting Michigan in late June, and when asked who is recruiting him the hardest, he mentions Wake, Clemson and Tennessee--notably not us.

Since we offered him so early and because of his connection to Brendan Winters, I've consistently held out hope he would be a gem in our 2018 class. Any time a player mentions other schools and not us as schools of interest, it likely means he has other schools on the mind more (but could also be a kid telling the reporter the bigger conference schools recruiting him). I will continue to hold out hope we land HT, but my optimism is dwindling. Getting him on campus during camps and playing with our incoming freshman class feels like a must if we still think we have a chance.

The most significant note from the article, HT says a commitment may come soon, as he would like to make a decision after the July live period, if not sooner. The sooner he decides, the sooner we know if we have a young man we can build around or can continue pursuing other kids of similar skill and character.

Here are some recent highlights of Tyson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urvlWeQF96Q

We need a Miami hurricanes like attitude towards kids in the charlotte north meck area. Obviously there are faults with logic but it's our interstate to lose; got to own the pipe of players in that geography

I think more and more the coaches have figured out that a specific type of person that flourishes in our program. As much as I would like to have this person from Charlotte or that person from where ever, I put my trust in the coaches to find the players that will continue to prosper and elevate the program. They have continued to amaze me in the ability to recruit at a high level and continue to have an atmosphere that every player genuinely loves.

Tough story for EKU:

http://www.kentucky.com/sports/college/kentucky-sports/uk-basketball-men/article148700539.html

This happens, though. At the same time we Davidson fans were worried someone would swoop in on Grady or Frampton we were swooping in on Collins.

I'm sure we are behind historically in swooping.

6' 9" 239lbs. Started all 34 games as a sophomore. Academic All-Big Ten.

A worthy Cave successor....

May 8th, get him a Coke at the Snappy Lunch with Andy Taylor. 131th anniversary of Coca Cola's birth.

Pretty day for a campus visit. 71, nary a cloud in the sky.

I guess they recruited over him, otherwise not sure why someone who averaged 24 minutes per game with 6 points and 6 boards would leave. There hasn't been a coaching change.

I'd love to see Jacobson on the roster and Nebraska on the schedule. And whip 'em. Again.
