Article from Hoopseen on recently offered Darryl Morsell, describing his game and his recruitment. The two programs that talk to him the most are Dayton and George Mason, so it looks like we have some A10 competition.

Apparently we are interested in polish guard Marcel Ponitka, I don't know what year he would be or much about him, but in this article he says (via google translate) http://sportowefakty.wp.pl/koszykowka/603721/marcel-ponitka-biore-pod-uwage-gre-w-ncaa

Quote:
I do not know yet what will be next season, but the NCAA definitely take into consideration. I admit that Davidson expressed interest - admits the player

This quote would imply he is a 2016, although it is really unclear.

Quote:
It is worth saying that the basketball player passed the American high school diploma, which gives him a pass to play in the NCAA. Player is very interested Universities Davidson.

EDIT: He also played at Montverde with Ben Simmons before returning to Poland

EDIT 2: also caused quite a stir with this... um... play(?) in the high school national title game (that they won) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaQ_ROUWI9k

He certainly does appear to have made some sort of, um, play on the, um, ball.

Updates approximately every fifth page on this thread (or when drivel crosses 99% threshold). Comments, corrections, and additions welcome: public, PM, or by email.

The Kool-Aid list reflects publicly available sources, typically internet recruiting sites (e.g., Rivals.com, Verbalcommits.com, Twitter, etc.), and published reports. News of offers and commitments must be publicly sourced. The list is maintained for entertainment purposes only. It contains no information received from coaches or recruits. waitress takes full responsibility for any omissions, typos, or other errors.

Back-of-the-envelope scholarship count: Davidson gets thirteen scholarships. For the 2016-2017 season, Davidson presumably has 11 of 13 scholarships used by: McAuliffe & Gibbs ('17); Aldridge, Ekwu, Magarity(RS), Michelson, Reigel, & Watkins ('18 ); Gudmundsson, Kovacevic(RS), & Pritchett(RS) ('20).

94' x 50' = 4700 sq. ft.

Maybe the court should be 100' x 56', but it isn't.

I know the best course is to have faith in our program and a player's interests lining up, but we'd be kidding ourselves if we weren't a little worried by more big names and recruiting powerhouses getting involved.

if the expectation is we sign top players, we should be more worried if this were not the case.

Walter Whyte's page on Rivals says he has no interest in DC. This surprises me because he doesn't have a dozen offers from P5 conference schools.

If true maybe it's because we have backed off some in our pursuit of him (assuming the interest reported ever did exist).

I have no knowledge of our current interest level but this is definitely does not mean we do or do not have interest. Being a non-power school we often get overlooked on the lists composed by national recruiting sites. For example, ESPN didn't have us listed among the schools Kellan Grady was interested in until he committed, despite being his proclaimed favorite throughout the process. Rivals, Scout, and other recruiting services are no different, as they will always update the page if a big school gets involved (largely because of the larger fanbase and intense interest in recruiting among P5 schools), but they are less inclined to update it when Davidson gets involved because frankly there are less of us and it doesn't help them garner traffic. Usually they will add us if we are mentioned by the prospect in an article written by that site, but I don't expect it otherwise and we shouldn't worry about it. This is why I think twitter is a great resource for us since so much recruiting info gets tweeted out no matter the size of the school since kids are constantly asked which schools they are interested in by reporters.

WRT my Brad Davison post earlier, I agree it is good to be involved with prospects being recruited by big time programs, but love them or hate them, Duke has a way of getting most of the guys they really want, so I never like to see their name with guys we're involved with.

Rivals has us on the list of schools who have offered Whyte. They report he has no interest in DC and some others on the list.
