Former UNC tutor Jennifer Thompson, nee Wiley, has been indicted by an Orange County grand jury for violating the NC law limiting/prohibiting contact and payments between agents and their employees and college athletes. She is charged with 4 felonies.
When she was a tutor at UNC, she met the definition of a "booster", although she was not an employee of UNC. It will be interesting how the NCAA views this.
There are articles in the Charlotte Observer and the News & Observer. |

Quote: | Two brothers, one burned during the crime, were arrested Monday for stealing copper wiring and pipe from a gas line from a church.
Kyle, 24, and Kevin Coleman, 19, both of Asheboro, were charged with breaking and entering a place of worship, felony larceny, possession of stolen goods and burning of a church or religious building, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. |
Quote: | Kyle was actually burned inside the church as he used a cigarette lighter while in the basement of the church as a light source to see what he was doing. While cutting the pipe for the gas line, the cigarette caused the natural gas to ignite, deputies said. |

Take the time to click the link to the story dorp posted. One of the brothers is wearing a Panthers' jersey in his mugshot. He might have to miss Thursday's game unless he makes bail. |

At the risk of being deemed yet again "unwelcome", criminals having an ignition source close to a flammable material are not the only "brainiacs" at work in our society. Safety inspectors at the TVA in Alabama (should memory serve) at the Brown's Ferry NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT searched for air leaks using a lit candle in a crawl space filled with electrical conduit coated with highly flammable material.
My recollection is that the ensuing fire came very close to causing a full scale radioactive core melt down.
Some year's later, these same TVA consultants, having broadened their business model, designed the Affordable Care Act Web Portal. |

The design wasn't the problem. It was making the beta test public. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

When someone suggested a restaurant to Yogi Berra, he said that no one goes there: it's too crowded. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

Yogi also said " If you don't know where you're going you might end up someplace else." |

The restaurant referred to by Yogi was Toots Shor's. Jackie Gleason dropped Toots's name on his show quite often. (The Jackie Gleason Show, not The Honeymooners.) |

Toots Shor's ... Yogi Berra met Ernest Hemingway there one night. Hemingway was introduced to Berra as a famous writer. Yogi replied: "What paper you with, Ernie?" |
