Up last: at George Mason

Post by i77cat » Sun May 12, 2024 8:49 am

Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Warren Nolan predicts that we win the opener. I think we'll win at least two. Go Cats. We haven't swept a road series this season (only swept two at home--Siena and the Bonnies), but this one is possible. It'd be a nice way to finish a disappointing season.

I hate to say this out loud, but it seems that some of our shaky pitching is coming around. We've had solid outings from Perkins, Weber, Champey, Katz, Fix, and Ban recently. It's good to have Cavanaugh back, but he obviously is not back to optimal form yet. We're still missing O'Shaughnessy and Cotrone, although Cotrone has been in a season-long slump anyway. 2 of 3 at GMU should be good enough to make the tournament, so we need 5 or 6 more solid pitching performances this weekend to accomplish that. Go Cats!

You'll have to show your math on that one. We haven't been mathematically eliminated yet, but we aren't making the A10 tournament. We have to sweep and get tons of help. Ain't happening.

One can hope.

Don't waste hope on that one. Even if we sweep, we're almost certainly eliminated.

I'm not a statistician (although I did take Stats with Dr Kelton - hard as hell), but our odds of making the tourney are probably mathematically possible but about a plausible as getting hit in the head with a comet in the next day or so.

We have to sweep. St Joes and UMASS have to get swept (both play at home). Fordham has to lose 2 of 3 to the Bonnies. And then the tiebreakers come into effect and I have no idea how that works.

I won’t even post the link to the video of the Jim Carrey line.

How old were your kids when you guys told them that Santa Claus isn't real?

They are 29 and 23. Haven't told them. Santa Claus is far more real than the odds of the Wildcats making a 7-team A10 tournament.

Shifted to 3 pm today and then a doubleheader tomorrow. Go Cats. Close the season with some wins.

Good start. Cider led off the 2nd with a double. Wilhoit followed with a homer. 2-0. Mason has made it 2-1, still batting.
