Incompetent. From the celebration penalty to the poor execution of a poor decision to the atrocious defense on the final play, we earned that loss.

I hope Mason's knee is okay.

At least two coaches, and I think three, should be given their walking papers the moment the plane touches down later today. Not only was the end-of-game mismanaged to a level almost unprecedented in football history, but the constant penalties, blow coverages, late hits, mouthing off, and so on.

Changes MUST be made. Immediately.

This whole program needs a dose of discipline. Poor coaching on defense and now offense. Stupid penalties all year long. Defenders slow loping in pursuit.

This team also played with very little energy all year long. A nice group of senior players but little leadership.

Well now, one consolation, our last three plays will probably be shown on ESPN Not top Ten Plays. What an embarrassment.

For those of us who weren't watching the broadcast and had to read the play by play, it says they blocked our punt at the 8 yard line and scored on the last play of the game.

Did we do something other than a normal punt?

We made the NBC Nightly News after the 1975 loss to Lenoir Rhyne. The total yards and rushing yards the Bears gained set records. The final score was 69-14ish.

The NBC Nightly News did not cover sports in those days, but they made an exception for our performance.

Yes, was other than normal punt formation. And it wasn't blocked.

Frankly, a punt (and I was yelling at the TV the whole time) should have never been considered.

Put Mari Adams or Andrew Frazier in the pistol, snap the ball to him, and he runs out of the back of the end zone. Take the safety. We kickoff with a couple of seconds left. Game over. 17-12.

No block. Snapped to Durkin in normal shotgun drop. He took a step or two forward and punted the ball. But he missed. Not shanked or grazed. Slap missed it.

No they had a new toy in the box that should have been left there. Early in the game Durkin lined up in shot gun then moved back 3 more yard and they hoped to lure the defense up much like a quick kick.

At the end there was 8 seconds left. Durkin was late on the field (like he wasn't sure what he was doing) They did the same thing. He looked like the normal shot gun but moved back to punt. He whiffed. The ball fell on the ground with 4 seconds left. If he takes that snap and lopes to the far corner of the end zone, the clock most likely runs out if his blockers disrupt the rushers. Worse case he could take a knee right when Valpo gets to him in the end zone. 17 - 12 with 1 second to go. Punt, game over.

The offensive play calling was bad today too. You won't run much successful option if you let your opponent put 8 in the box.

For what it is worth. I am not sure they scored on the extra point. The tight end caught a shuttle pass in the middle and was defended well. After a major scrum, he reach for the line. His body never crossed the line. Maybe the ball did, but regardless we deserve to lose from our stupidity.

We could not call for a replay because we were out of time outs.

That's a creative way to lose a game.

We had 2 bye weeks this year. Having the RB take a safety is something you could practice the week you don't have a game.

The running back can get into the end zone and run around to eat up a few more seconds.

Don't use a running back who has just passed 1000 yards gained for the season.

2 point conversion was good. Ball crossed the line. Great play on a gutsy call.

Pooch kick from Durkin was fine the first time. Not when it counted.

For a program with some strange losses, this was among the most clownish.

I'm curious. Which three heads are you calling for?

Look our 'win probability ' at the end of the game...even the computers are baffled.
