Breaking news. 13 UNC players will be suspended as a result of the NCAA investigation into the selling of gear. One is QB Chazz Surratt.

What a joke. Offer fake classes if you will. But take a drop of our money and face the consequences.

Got a chuckle out of Fedora's quote about the importance of accountability.

So there's that.

Bubba Cunningham is paid over $700,000 to be the Athletic Director at UNC-CH. That's a enough money to put systems in place to prevent this activity, or at least limit it to less than 15% of the scholarship football players.

UNC-CH can find someone who'll do the job just as incompetently for much less.

What's the going rate for shoes belonging to members of a 3-9 team? The Surratt brothers were star students at East Lincoln and Lincolnton. Chazz committed to Duke, but then switched to UNC-CH. His WR brother said he was going to Harvard, but then chose Wake.

Where does Chazz go now? He was in a fight for the starting QB position, but can't play barefoot.

One of the suspended players is a walk-on QB from Myers Park High in Charlotte.

Maybe he'll transfer to a school where he has a family connection.

Jack Davidson.

Don't be surprised to see UNC-CH do the noble thing and agree to a Major Bowl (Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Orange, and Cotton) ban this season.

UNC-CH has self-imposed a Major Bowl ban for 68 seasons now.

You have to have a winning record to go to a bowl game.

Tell that to UCLA last season. Duke was 6-6 before their bowl win validated their season.

UNC-CH's last major bowl appearance was in January 1950. It's an enigma what these different kinds of rule breaking are getting them.

The other day in court they needed a Swahili Interpriter. I helpfully told the judge to look for unc basketball players
If anyone disagrees with anything I say, I am quite prepared not only to retract it, but also to deny under oath that I ever said it

Now that's funny.
"We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''

Carmelo Anthony gave 3 million to syracuse when he was 25 and of course we all know what steph has done for us (in and out of athletics).... it pays to have prolific basketball alums.

Wrong thread?
Bob in the huddle during timeout: "Don't listen to BDL!"
Matt: "Coach, that's BDF."
Bob: "What?! There's two of them!?"
