I attended the 2004 Davidson at ETSU game in Johnson City right before I left for Africa to climb a mountain.
I had looked on a map and determined that the quickest way there was to take 321. There are some things map don't tell you.
Also, we lost.

Their coach, Brooks Savage, graduated from Tennessee in 2008. He was the student manager there.
One of their players, Jaxson Jones, is from Council Bluffs, Iowa. His high school is listed as "The Skill Factory"...

It’s game day, Go Cats!
Re: Up next: ETSU
ETSU lists their record as 2–1, but they have four game scores on their schedule. I’m guessing they’re counting their 56–71 loss to High Point as an exhibition. They’ve beaten Newberry and Tusculum, which puts them atop the SAC. They lost by four to Eastern Kentucky in the Hollow Watcher Classic.
They have three guys averaging double-digit scoring. Quimari Peterson is a 6’1” senior guard. Jaden Seymour (15.0 and 6.3) and Karon Boyd (11.0 and 7.0) are from Charlotte and Concord, respectively, so they might bring some friends and family—though I’m sure they’ll be drowned out by the roar of the Belk Arena faithful. John Buggs III is 0.III points from averaging double digits as well. Roosevelt Wheeler—formerly an A10 Ram of the VCU kind—is also on the roster.

And a double header. Your ticket to the men's game gets you into the women's game, I believe.

Quimari Peterson is the player that killed us last year. Hopefully we have a better game plan for him this time around.

Late arriving crowd.
Re: Up next: ETSU
"Crowd"? That's funny, right there.

That's nice. It didn't sound that way on ESPN+. It sounded, and looked, dead.

That's good. Crowd just seems like the wrong word. "Small gathering of friends and family" takes too long to type, though. It's partly my fault. I wasn't there. Our product looks and sounds weak on ESPN+. Maybe we'll get back to the point that we can fill the arena.

Re: Up next: ETSU
Crowd looked pathetic on TV. But, unfortunately I was missing as well. A bout of food poisoning kept me from driving from New Bern. Very disappointing.

Re: Up next: ETSU
There were gaps in seating on the lower level, so your estimate of the crowd depends upon where you looked. I had a row to myself part of the time. Some regulars weren't there, as some have already confessed.
As for noise, maybe they should mike the crowd and transmit the sound in 5.1 surround. Then if you listened through a good multi-channel system, it would simulate the immersive experience of being there. Even extracted simulated surround sound gives sporting events, especially basketball, the sense of being part of the crowd.
During the closing minutes of the game, the crowd, such as it was, made a lot of noise and sounded about as loud as it ever can. I will spare you the acoustical discussion of why two violins don't play twice as loud as one violin. But I suggest you not provoke me into doing so.
