Up next: High Point
Re: Up next: High Point
We outscored them 26-9 in the second half. It reminds me of the Y team I played for in 4th grade.
After we lost 42-3 to an average team, they took our worst player, not me, and put him on the best team. We were given another player who was strong and quick. He tackled anyone on the opposing team who broke open for a layup. After another week or two, we won 13-12.
We finished the year 4-10. The tackler played for a very good high school team years later. He had quit tackling years before.
A couple of games ago, High Point lost to #69 Arizona State 77-69. (According to Massey. HPU's #244 is the best in the Big South.)
Great game for Davidson!

When I was a sophomore in HS we beat Lexington (NC) in a JV basketball game 100-48.
Lexington had a freshman named Joe McIntosh who would later be a star RB at State. When we beat them he was on the varsity. 2 or 3 weeks later we played them again. Lexington moved McIntosh down to the JV team and beat us in a tight game. One player can make a big difference.

Ouch!
"We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''
