Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
So, back to the original purpose of this thread, as Waitress set it up, we should try to provide an update every 5 pages or so.
As Waitress detailed, previously:
The Kool-Aid list reflects publicly available sources, typically internet recruiting or social media sites (e.g., Rivals.com, Verbalcommits.com, Twitter, etc.), and published reports. The list is maintained for entertainment purposes only. It contains no information received from coaches or recruits.

Good to see the coaching staff reads the board.RichmondCat wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 8:17 amWhile I also have faith, we may need to reconsider this approach for 2020, the year without a Santa Claus.CatsUpNorth wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 6:34 amFrom an article in the Athletic. This would explain our lack of 2021 offers. I think making an exception this summer would be wise but also have faith in the staff.“We don’t generally offer a scholarship until we speak with a kid face to face,” Davidson coach Bob McKillop says. “So all of this has put us in a holding pattern.”

I liked his highlight film. My eye kept finding #23, Ezemdi Udoh. He chose football for college. Gonna be a freshman tight end at NCSU.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Good for Howard. Their head coach is Kenny Blakeny from Duke, who was hired last year with no head coaching experience and charged with turning around a chronically bad program that hasn't made the NCAA Tournament since 1992. Lefty gave Blakeny his first coaching job right out of college in 1995 at JMU. Maker choosing Howard is not unlike Fred Hetzel choosing lowly Davidson College. I hope Maker brings Howard similar success.
"We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''

Or, if Howard changes their plans (or their coach) for this season, he could follow in the (rather large) footsteps of another Davidson great...?DC69Wildcat wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 10:03 pmGood for Howard. Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Howard was 4-29 in '19-'20, 1-15 in the MEAC. It was Blakeney's first season.
Maker is not projected to be a "one and done" player at Howard. The '21-'22 season will be different in the MEAC. A&T, FAMU, and Bethune Cookman will be gone. That will leave 8 basketball playing members. That would mean 14 conference games and many non-conference games. Maybe Howard can schedule some road games for big checks and tv coverage.
