Fordham is in the Sweet Sixteen after knocking off St. Francis and #11 UVa in the first two rounds. VCU had a first round bye, but lost to Butler in the second round, and UMass lost in the first round to Colgate. Fordham faces #6 Duke on Saturday.

Fordham to the Elite 8. Tied at 2 after 2 OTs at #6 Duke, they won the PK shootout, 8-7.

Up next, #3 North Carolina.

The tenth shooter for Fordham was senior backup goalkeeper Jordan Black, who has yet to play a single second in goal this season for the Rams. He calmly converted into the left side of the goal to put Fordham ahead, 8-7. Moser had to score for Duke to continue the shootout, but Nuhu made the stop to the right post, putting the Rams into the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time in program history.

Excellent news for the Rams. Maybe some of this team will be remembered forever as the soccer equivalent of The Seven Blocks of Granite.

SLU tied the Zips in September, and beat the Cardinal a week later.

The College Cup is being played in Chester, PA. Chester is where you hit the remote control to make sure your doors are locked when driving north on I-95.

The NCAA is trying to recreate the atmosphere of the '92-'94 events. Chester, PA in a nearly empty MLS stadium is not the place.

Actually about equidistant from I-95 and I-495, although my only experience with the place was taking two players from the Swarthmore baseball team to the ER after a left-field collision.

4900+ announced attendance. I dunno, but maybe they should avoid "pro-centric" locales for this event.

If you trust Wikipedia, it says I-95 and I-476 run through Chester. I-495 is in Delaware. You don't want to get lost in or around Chester.

In 1950, Chester had 66,000 people. In 2010, it had 34,000.
