Since the link was also a casualty, if you are interested, there is a new Riley Battin article which you can find by googling him or searching his name on twitter.collegecoach8502 wrote:I made some edits to the above two posts. Nothing that the two of you did, but thought it would be better not posting all the quotes as they could be harmful.

I read into everything. And I think we're in the lead for Riley. We're his first official visit. We're listed first by his coach. We're the first mascot on his "top 6" graphic, and he just eliminated the two mascots at the bottom of the graphic (CU and CU).
I love being the first visit. Vandy being his final visit concerns me, because they offer a really great college experience and a beautiful campus too.
As others have alluded to, Battin is our priority. He is not Vandy's priority, and their fans apparently see him as "another body" in a crowded frontcourt.

One of my first experiences with Davidson basketball was at their home game vs. NC State in the 95-96 year (my frosh year). Mid-way through first half, David (I think at that point, we didn't know his name and called him 'sleepy head' due to his big stack of fussed hair) caught a pass on the lower wing at the 3 point line, pump faked, and then drove to the hole and slammed a two-handed dunk. That's when I knew Davidson Basketball was the real deal....MrMac wrote:Son of the late, great Optimus Prime, Cats board member and varsity BB player.

Dude was a fan favorite as a player and a player favorite as a fan. Good man. Died almost 6 years ago now, just before his 35th birthday.

Battin and Tyson would be insane get. We'd be a very dangerous front 5 with good recruiting momentum to add more depth and 6/7 guys. I hope Hunter sees the value in davidson, the opportunity to shine right away and grow the program in a more meaningful way than some of other schools recruiting him. Same goes for Riley. Goes without saying you can get good exposure anywhere and if you're good play pro. Bob has taught pros and can facilitate their development into NBA players if they continue improving.
Excited man. Would be huge

Let me take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation for all the posters who took the time to fill me in on JJ's identity and golden future.
I very much look forward to personally welcoming this young lad into the Knighthood of the Round Ball in 2029, even should my Arener seat be above the roof.
