New school 500 free record by Dylan Felt, as he won the event in 4:16.58. This is a ridiculous time.

Women's 200 free relay also set the school record by a few hundredths.

Does that 500m time meet the NCAA qualifying standard?

The 500 (yard) time meets the "B" requirement. As of a few days ago, that time would be 36th in Division I. The selection process is....complicated. So I'm not sure that time would make it.

Dylan split a 1:32.22 in the 200 free on the end of the 800 free relay on Wednesday night. That time would be 12th in Division I, based on the report from a few days ago. Dylan will swim that event today.

Thanks. I am trying to bring myself up to speed on some new sports. Felt looks like an all-time great.

Felt took second in the 200 free with a 1:33.83. That bested his previous school record of 1:35.

Dylan Felt set his second Atlantic 10 record of the week and wrapped up Co-Most Outstanding Performer honors on Saturday, the final day of the 2024 A-10 Championships at the Hampton Aquaplex.

Felt, who set the league's 500 free record on Thursday, trimmed more than 13 seconds off the 1650 free standard (which he already owned) on Saturday, and took it under the 15-minute mark to 14:55.89. In the process, he also improved on his 1,000 free school record (9:04.94) as well.
The 14:55, when I last checked, is 24th in Division 1. The 'cut line' for NCAAs last year was 30. I believe there is one more weekend of conference championships, and then some last-chance meets to qualify for NCAAs. I'm sure the coaching staff is on top of this.

Latest update has Dylan at 29th in the 1650

Dylan finished at 33rd in Division 1 in the 1650 free. The top 30 made the cut for the NCAA Championship meet.

The top 36 or so in each event make the cut on the women's side....

They allow more places for women in case some of the men who didn't make the cut decide to switch categories.
