2 Saturday, 1 Sunday. Go Cats.

I only list games, so there is no Up Next for tonight's murder in Kannapolis. That starts at 6 and is on YouTube if anyone is interested.

0-0 after 2. Fix has walked 3 so far, but has pitched his way out of it.

Decent crowd, all Charlotte.

Warren Nolan says today's game is #238 at #76 and that we'll lose 4-9. So up 1-0 after 3 1/2 is nice. I didn't think we'd stay within 10 today. Good job so far.

Fix pitched 3 scoreless innings. Dunegan came in in relief and walked 2, got an out, then gave up a run-scoring single. The second baserunner held at 3rd, and the Niners tried a squeeze bunt. Putnam played it perfectly and got the runner at the plate. Nicely done, Cats. Tied 1-1 after 4.

Fix was pitching pretty well. 59 pitches after 3 shutout innings. Why take him out? Makes absolutely no sense at all.

Tied at 2 at the end of 5.

49'er announcer doesn't math well. After the 5th inning, he said we were headed to the 6th tied at 2. True. Then he said we were headed to the final 3rd of the game. True, but we weren't headed there right away. That would happen after the 6th inning.

Cats are cranking the ball in the top of the 6th. Up 5-2 and still batting.

Cats get 5 in the 6th on BB > triple > out > HBP > HBP > double > sacrifice > WP. Niners go down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the inning. 7-2 after 6.

2nd RBI triple by Noah Jouras makes it 8-2. Pour it on Cats!

Now 9-2. Hope that's enough.

Freshman Thomas Whelan pitched 2+ excellent innings, then kinda lost his control after striking out the first 2 batters in the 7th. He walked one, then hit the next batter, but Micah Baermann came in and got the 3rd out. Still 9-2. Need 6 more outs.

Whelan has a nasty slider.

Champey came in with the bases loaded, 2 outs, bottom 8. 1 pitch needed to end the inning. Cats up 9-3 headed to the 9th.
