Baermann gets 2 outs, then issues a walk and plunks a guy. Katz comes in and walks the next 2 batters, giving the Niners their 3rd run. Bases still loaded, 2 outs, Champey now in. He gets the 3rd out on 1 pitch. Whew!

Cats win 9-3. Fantastic win over a decent team (RPI 76).

Best win of the season. Other than 10 walks, the pitching staff did very well. Although all 3 of the Niners' runs were scored by batters who had reached on a walks, they only got 4 hits. One of those was a long home run, but it came with the bases empty. Best of all, we got outs when we needed them, which has rarely been the case this season.

Not trying to be picky, but a long home run is not a walk that scored 🤔

That's not being picky. The word "all" should not have been there. 3 of their 4 runs were scored by runners who had been walked.

The guys who pitched tonight need to pitch on the weekends when the conference season starts.

Some of those guys pitched in our win against A&T.

But they didn't score 4 runs. Final was 9-3.

Best win of the season. Still striking out way too much and walking way too many batters, but we made plays!

Warren Nolan says Siena is 294 in the RPI. We moved up 12 slots to 226. He projects that we'll finish the year at 222. Siena's best win this season hasn't happened yet. They are 0-16. Another home series of 🌭 and 🧁.

Warren Nolan projects that Siena will finish 9-44 this year. They'll be happy to get home. Their first 16 have been on the road. They play at Army today. I think their first home game is on March 28.

The outfield is still frozen up there.

Putnam's scoop to Jouras on the sac bunt attempt was pretty slick. Plus, we picked off a couple of runners, too.

Cotrone was one of our best hitters last season. He is in a terrible slump this year, hitting just .157 with 37 strikeouts. Jacob Friend had a similar start last year, then snapped out of it and was our most productive hitter in the last third of the season. I hope he is talking to Cotrone.

I have good memories of a summer league teammate from Siena. People usually put their name or # on the bill of their cap to help keep tabs on it. He put “Not Yours”.

I think there is a pun in Italian in there somewhere.
