Re: Up next: Siena
Geez. Cats up 4-3 after 5, but we've left 12 on base! We left 10 in the first game. Cooper Cavanaugh pitched very well for 4 innings in game 2, leaving with a 4-1 lead. Champey came in to pitch the 5th - out > walk > single > HBP > 2 runs on a bungled DP ball. Ground ball to shortstop, who threw to 2nd for the out, then 2nd baseman threw wide to 1st, pulling Putnam off the bag. Putnam tried to tag the runner and evidently missed, then turned to the ump to appeal the call while the runner from 2nd base rounded third and scored the second run. He would have been out by a mile had Putnam been paying attention.

And Champey leaves after allowing 3 runs on 2 hits, 3 walks, and 2 HBP. One of the hits was a game-tying home run. Dunagan gets the final out in the 6th on 2 pitches. 4-4 after 6.

Re: Up next: Siena
Win. Cats get the lead in the bottom of the 5th on a very nice squeeze bunt by Hunter Anderson, then Dunagan gets a 1-2-3 7th. Final 5-4.

1 pm today for the chance at a 🧹 .
If I get called off from work, I could go. Or I could go to the Lake Campus and work with my favorite Davidson athletes. Good options. Except for getting to called in to work, that is.

Re: Up next: Siena
9 runs so far in the 2d. Siena is awful. Our runs came on 4 singles, 1 double, 2 errors, 1 BB, and 1 HBP. Still batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd.
Addendum: those 2 runners scored on the Saints' 3rd error of the inning. Now 11-1.

Re: Up next: Siena
We scored 11 in the 2nd!
Re: Up next: Siena
We trailed 1-0 after 1.
Most Wildcats have been to the plate twice in the 2nd.
Fish, barrel, no water, pistol.
1-11 after 2. We hit some balls pretty hard. But mostly the Saints had the drops. Line scores are 1/2/3 to 11/8/1.

Re: Up next: Siena
The good news for the Saints pitching staff is that with all the errors, only 9 of our 19 runs are earned. Sienna has allowed 13 hits, 5 walks, and 4 HBP, so the team's WHIP will suffer. Only 1 of our hits has been for extra bases.
