The USC catcher made a perfect throw on Friend's steal attempt, and Friend just beat it out. I think the home plate ump who made that interference call is the brother of the ref who called that last foul on Grant against UMass.

Final. 1-4. We host Brown this weekend.

Called after 6 complete. Final 4-1 Gamecocks. USC got only 4 hits off Davidson pitching, but they also benefitted immensely from 8 walks, 2 HBP, 2 errors, and a wild pitch.

If Fix had a little better control, this would have been a very close game. Certainly, we weren't embarrassed, against a ranked team on the road.

Dunegan and Katz pitched well in relief. USC had a couple of very impressive pitchers.
