Mallorie leads D1 in 3-pt shooting. Added 2 more tonight (on 2 attempts).

All that work with Jeff McInnis is paying off.

She's now 29-52 behind the arc. 55.8%. She has beautiful shot selection to go along with that perfect form. Struggling shooters should watch her.

Of all Davidson players, male and female, who finished the season with the highest 3-point percentage?

Cliff Tribus has to be high in this ranking. I am not sure that any of his three-pointers counted for statistical purposes, though? Were those year part of the SoCon 'trial' of the three point arc?

For shooters with a reasonable volume of attempts, I'd guess Derek Rucker. Peter Anderer could also really shoot it.

Tribus got to shoot 3’s in selected SoCon games in 80-81(0-2) and 82-83(15-38).

As a sophomore Sam Mennenga shot .467 from three, but that was with just 30 attempts which feels like it may still be a bit low for whatever threshold is that you use for these kind of questions.

Rusty Reigel shot .491 in his senior year on 57 shots!

Kalinoski shot .455 as a junior, going 61-134. Im confident whatever the threshold is wed include tyler!

Finally, in his senior year Nich Cochran short 49% from three on 102 attempts.

The question was about a season, not a career. I'll stick with Derek Rucker. As a junior, he was 73-147. That's 49.7%. We'd all like to know what Gerdy would have done with a three point arc, but Derek is the best I've seen. And I'd bet on Mallorie to beat that .497 this year.

Anderer was 84-185 as a junior. .454

Not sure Gerdy could have beaten the best actual percentage numbers. Had there been a 3 point shot then, in the context of our roster, he would have seen some insane junk defenses. As it was, top ten ranked Wake Forest put a box and one on him (and held him to 40 on 18-24 shooting from the field, but that was a special night).

But again, due to the roster, Gerdy wasn't exactly choosy when it came to shot selection. As he himself has said, "It can't go down if it doesn't go up." Really questionable whether that theme is consistent with the all time single season 3 point shooting percentage. Suggesting it at all marks us as fans of the school where Steph Curry played and therefore people who are unusually willing to dismiss notions that some things are impossible.

Yeah, Gerdy needed a better roster to go along with the arc. He was a spectacular shooter.
