The 'Cats open the regular season Tuesday night hosting USC Upstate.

The Spartans were picked 6th in the Big South preseason poll. There were 11-20 last season and 7-11 in league play.

Their point guard, Trinity Johnson was named to the 2023-24 Big South Conference Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Second Team and is the team's leading scorer. They have 8 newcomers on the roster including transfers from Lehigh and Utah Valley.

Our Wildcats played 2 "secret" scrimmages and I'm operating on the assumption that no news is good news.

Game is up and running!!! The video quality looks good, but unfortunately the audio is about 4 seconds ahead at least on my end.

End the first quarter on an 11-0 run!! Cats are hitting a lot of their threes, up 23-12 going to the second.

Our 21 is the best player on the court. I'd heard she was outstanding. I didn't suspect this, though. Excellent on both ends of the court.

We played 8 of our 10. 22 and 9 (yes, 9) haven't been in yet.

We look great!! Up 37-18 after Issy converts an and one, really just rolling on offense with contributions from a number of players and good defense.

Never trailed after that big run to end the first quarter. Good stuff all around, nice to see us take control of the game and put it away early.
