Down 13-5 after one. We had ten turnovers in the first quarter. If that is not a record it should be.

“On pace for 40 turnovers.” Down 5-15 after 1Q.

Opened Q2 with 3, and then an and-one, Now 11-13.

Better 2nd quarter. One turnover and four assists. The Hawks hit a shot at the buzzer to take the lead 24-22 at the half.

Got badly behind, and then got the lead down to 9 with 16 seconds to go. Choosing to do a foul, we lost by 11.

A pretty good year, considering all the injuries. Farewell Rosie, one of my favorites of all time. Farewell to Chole too; I'm sure your final season didn't turn out like you hoped.

Remember this? https://davidsonwildcats.com/news/2023/ ... kens-75-71

The Billikens made it to the A10 title game. If they win, they'll be 17-17 for the season. They are up 5, late in the 3rd.

UMass tied it at 54. SLU went on a 10-2 run. 64-56 with under 9 minutes left. SLU pulled a huge upset yesterday, taking out URI. Massey had UMass at #54. He had them winning by 8 today.

Great finish. UMass took a 1-pt lead, SLU went up 3 in the final minute, UMass cut it to 1 around 40 seconds, SLU, missed, rebounded, headed to the line with 10.3 seconds, hit both free throws. Only one team foul for SLU and UMass uses their last timeout to advance the ball. I'd foul 4 times.

But not on a 3. SLU fouls a 3-pt shooter with 8.8 left. Make, miss, make. 74-73, SLU timeout. Foul at 7.2 seconds. Make, make. Should be enough. Incompetent. SLU failed to commit a 3rd foul. UMass hits a buzzer 3 to tie.

These teams look bigger and better than we do.

St. Louis has a terrible record in non-conference games.

SLU fell behind in OT, then scored 12 in a row to lead 89-79. Final is 91-85.

St. Louis's coach was the head coach at Longwood last year. They won the Big South title last year. She's the first coach to win a title at a school, take a new position, and then lead that school to a conference tournament title the next year.

That's hard to believe, but good for her and the Billikens.

Bad for the A10. Where is the Women's Tournament's Dayton? (For the 16th seeded teams to play in.)

St. Louis is better than that. 15th.

As good as Rosie has been, we can only imagine how good she could have been absent COVID and the injuries. She was dominant as a freshman, but only played in a total of 26 games in 2020-21 and 2021-22.
"We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''
