Surprised that this happened in the middle of May. Guessing there is more to the story. Making a decision to change directions at this point puts the program back even further than it was - especially in today's age of transfer portals and not having to sit out a year. They will be lucky to have 3 or 4 kids left on the roster by the time they hire.
Hoping this doesn't have a ripple affect on our program.

Wake Forest Fires Head Coach
"He is a 6-foot-3, sweet smiling, fun loving boogeyman who will decimate entire teams, then sign autographs and take pictures with his fallen foes' children.
He is a question with no answers."

Their AD said 3-4 of their assistant coaches left, so they were facing an almost total rebuild even if they kept Hoover.
UNC and Duke have been underperforming the last few years. This was Wake's time to surpass those programs, but the door has closed.
We should be playing Wake at least once every year.

This decision should have been made in March. You are killing the program when you wait this long. As well, it doesn't allow the players to find new homes easily or the staff to find new positions. Evansville just did the same thing and AD is getting scorched.citycat wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 10:36 amTheir AD said 3-4 of their assistant coaches left, so they were facing an almost total rebuild even if they kept Hoover.
