Elle front rims a three at the buzzer. OT.

Yikes, not sure what was supposed to happen in the last play of regulation... but it didn't happen.

Dayton wins 60-55. Absolutely magnificent effort by our girls.

It can’t be often that a team can go over 12 minutes without scoring and then takes the lead in overtime.

Even with the miss at the end of regulation we have to be proud of Q4.

Great end to the season. Beat the 8 seed, nearly shocked the 1 seed.

Really proud of the team. Played with tremendous heart and had a great chance to win it. Excited for the future.

On the last play of regulation, did Dayton have another foul to give? It almost seemed like we were expecting to be fouled again.

Morgan had a couple of drives in the final minutes where she started a couple of feet beyond the 3-point line, but I could tell she had the steam and angle to get to the basket and finish. That was fun to watch

An extra conference victory or two and we avoid playing the #1 seed in our second game.

A good year and a better tournament performance

Correct, they had another foul to give. The way they managed the end of the game really limited our chances--the benefit of their only having one foul until the final minute. I, too, thought we were expecting the foul. But we got a good look at the rim, which is really all you can ask in that situation.

There was a huge disparity in fouls called but I don't think the game was poorly officiated--our fouling was more a product of their size and strength advantage.

Biggest mystery to me is that Rosie played 6 minutes in the game, only 1 in the second half. When she was on the floor she looked to be moving at full speed. At 5.6, with basically one chance to win the game (I feel 100% we need to try to steal this game in regulation, not let it go to overtime), why would you not want her scoring ability on the floor? She's a proven scorer and it would have increased our options tremendously.

For a while I coached a HS tennis team. I made sure I always called them the ‘women’s tennis team’. I also refused to use ‘Comettes’. We were the Blue Comets, not some nonsense word. Thankfully I have not heard ‘Comettes’ used for any of the teams in years.
