Holiday tournaments...

Tomisin made all-tourney in hers. https://twitter.com/ladyhoundsbb/status ... 0723902467
Also, Tomisin makes the all-hyphenated, last-name, all-tournament team.

My last name is not nearly as cool as "Adenupe".

But if I add "-TCWilliams" to it, maybe it closes the gap a teensy bit.

A Davidson alum is starting a new AAU program in Charlotte...

Mallorie is already on board. I believe her coach at Team United, Ashley Rivens, is as well.

Milestone for Mallorie...

40 pts tonight on 10-13 3FG vaulted her over the 1500 mark for her high school career. She needed 22 pts going into the game.

Nice.

I'm intrigued. She's chosen for the 3 on 3 national team in her age group, so she is recognized as one of the best in her country. Then she scores like she did in this league. How will this play out for DC? I don't want to set expectations unreasonably high, but I'm having trouble.
Just bumping this Rosie comment. She's crushing expectations.

Congrats to Sallie.

Four of the five starters from Sallie's AAU team are on the Georgia list. The other starter is on the South Carolina list.

Congrats to Tomisin.

By my rough estimation, our three signees/commits -- Tomisin, Sallie, and Mallorie -- figure to now be over 4000 combined points. #talent #hardwork #buckets

1. Apparently, Sallie is a PRBLM child. Kinda like how the Bad News Bears are bad news for opposing teams.
Hadn't checked this in a while. Mallorie Haines is now officially a PRBLM child as well.

How accurate would it be to compare this list to a Top 100 ranking of 2021 players? Obviously, seems like they are presenting it in a similar fashion, but not sure if they have a different set of criteria. Our recruiting certainly is trending well, regardless!

Some overlap.

There are currently 95 players in the 2021 PRLBM Child list, of which 27 are in the espnW 2021 Super 60.

Mallorie Haines isn't in the ESPN top 60. They give her 3 stars and a score of 89. There are two local guards in the top 50, one at North Meck and one at Canon. They have Mallorie as #25 at her position. Really good, but outside the top 100. I'll bet that opinions of recruiters change before she gets to Davidson.

Sallie has to be just outside the ESPN top 100. They give her 3 and 90. The #100 player has 4 and 91. Her position rank is 10th. FBC's best wing is Treasure Hunt. She's 28th overall, 5 stars, 97 points, playing in the McDonald's game, and signed with the Wildcats of Kentucky.

High school update...

** Walton lost in their region tournament. I believe their season might be over, but not 100% certain. The state tourney bracket still shows an unoccupied spot labeled "At Large".

So I'm telling you there's a chance.

** Davidson Day School closed out a perfect 7-0 conference schedule on Friday. State tournament starts this week. Link to state tourney bracket is below. DDS is in 2A.

https://www.ncisaa.org/playoff-brackets ... 1&sport=23

** Westminster Christian Academy took their region tourney championship this weekend with wins over Peachtree Academy and Lanier Academy.

State bracket is here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... ingle=true

WCA has a first round bye and will play their first game on Friday. The school that beat WCA in the semis two years ago and in the finals last year appears to have moved up to the next higher classification.

Edit: NCISAA bracket is now filled with teams, which it was not earlier today. DDS is seeded #2 in 2A, and also has a 1st round bye. They'll have a Thursday game at home.

Davidson Day managed to get by Hickory Christian last evening, 60-21, or 60-20, depending on your source.

They'll play University Christian (12-4) at home on Saturday at 3 pm in the quarterfinals.

This will be the 3rd meeting between the two teams this season, with DDS winning the previous two. The first game went to OT, but I have reason to believe that Mallorie was unavailable for that one. The second game was not close.
