The dead periods now appear likely to extend to April 2021.

The NCAA Basketball Oversight Committees are also recommending a similar dead period through the end of their championship tournaments.

Davidson- the St. Mary’s of the East.
Portland has four Australians on their 2020-21 roster. They also have a player from New Zealand. None of them are seniors.
They have three more Australians on the way as part of their 2021 recruiting class.
I've lost count.

2021 signee high school update...
** Tomisin / Walton HS -- Their record is 6-4 so far, and they have won four in a row. Tomisin missed their first 4 games with a banged up finger, but appears to be fine now. If my arithmetic and Twitter are correct, she's averaging 17.7 ppg and has been remarkably consistent.
My sense is that this squad is up compared to last season. They will play in a tournament starting the Monday after Christmas.
** Mallorie / Davidson Day School -- 2-2 on the season. Both losses against came against very good teams. Most of last year's top players return, so they'll again contend for titles. Next game is in January.
Mallorie is averaging 27+ ppg so far. You can find her complete stats on MaxPreps. I think she's getting within shouting distance of 2000 pts for her career.
** Kelby / Hampshire HS -- As best I can tell, all winter sports in Illinois have been paused since November and will remain so at least until January. What happens then is anybody's guess. I didn't detect a lot of optimism in the articles I looked at.
This stinks to high heavens for Kelby.

Apparently Keeley enrolled in the Spring semster and is already on campus!

The tweet calls her a "mid-year addition," I wonder if that means she will immediately come in and be eligible to play with the team the remainder of the season or is she is doing what Sam did with the men's team where shell be redshirting for a semester but still practicing with the team

That's fantastic news. Since eligibility isn't burned this year, the only reason for her to not play is if she isn't ready to contribute. My bet is that we see her in action. Soon.

I just went back to watch chantilly's video on p32. She looks ready to me. 6'3, skilled, and has faced high level competition.

Good news. I bet she will play some. We can use another person at that size/position. I remember from videos that her game reminded me a lot of Sarah D.'s. Hopefully she has a nose for the ball and can help shore up rebounding.
Sure do miss Sarah D. She was fun and inspiring to watch. Sports can be cruel sometimes.

I look forward to seeing her play next fall. Welcome to Davidson!

If she's healthy, I'd be tempted to put her in for a few minutes this season. Of course, the activity that she'll learn from the most is practice.

Mallorie Haines had 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals against Hickory Christian. Davidson Day won the game comfortably. 73-8.

8? I think even Dr Bliss would had double figures in that game.

More like double the figure.

42-77 home win last night. Mallorie was presented with a ball for eclipsing 2000 career points.
