Re: Recruiting / Kool Aid
** Davidson Day School squeaked by University Christian today, 62-15.
They advance to the state semis against Gaston Day (19-8). That game will be played Friday, 6 pm, at Gaston Day. DDS won the regular season game, 63-57, which was also played at Gaston Day.
** Westminster Christian Academy edged Sherwood Christian in their game last night, 62-39.
They're also headed to the state semis where they'll play Region 3 champion Lafayette Christian at 5:30 pm on Thursday. This will be the first game between these two teams.
** Go Patriots! Go Lions!
Edit: 24 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, five steals for Mallorie in the DDS win. Sallie with 27 points in WCA's victory.

** Westminster Christian Academy beat Lafayette Christian yesterday, 69-30. Sallie scored 31 points.
Tomorrow at 5 pm, the Lions will face Lanier Christian for the state title. I believe that this will be the fourth matchup of the season between the two teams. WCA won all three previous meetings, including the regional final two weeks ago.

Re: Recruiting / Kool Aid
** Davidson Day School gets the win at Gaston Day School this evening, 61-56. Mallorie with 30.
The Patriots will play in the state final tomorrow at noon. Their opponent is The O'Neal School (25-2), the team they beat in last year's final.
These two teams met in late November with The O'Neal School prevailing, 39-23. Could be wrong, but I think this was another game in which Mallorie did not play.

Re: Recruiting / Kool Aid
** Davidson Day School hit two FTs with three seconds remaining to beat The O'Neal School for the NCISAA 2A state title. Final score was 46-45.
I'll let you guess who sank that pair of FTs. She finished with 26 points plus 11 rebounds.
O'Neal had gone on an 11-0 run to take control, 45-41, before DDS scored the final five points of the game.
** Back-to-back State Champs! Congrats to Mallorie, her teammates, and her coaches.

Re: Recruiting / Kool Aid
Btw, NCISAA All-state for Mallorie again, so more well-earned congratulations are in order for her.

I believe Mallorie won conference MVP as well.
GAPPS (Sallie) All-state teams will be announced this week, according to the inner webs.
GHSA (Tomisin) playoffs extend into March, so we'll have longer to wait for those teams. Tomisin plays in Class AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, which is the top classification in Georgia. (Actually, it's 7A.) She averaged roughly 20 ppg this season and has already made 1st team all-Region. Hoping for the best at this very competitive state level.

Nice to see first-team All-Staters coming in. I have to compliment the coaching staff on their recruiting efforts.

Re: Recruiting / Kool Aid
On Saturday, Tomisin Adenupe competed in a track & field meet for Walton HS.
She took first place in the high jump, with a winning height of 5'6". That height would be good for 3rd best on Davidson's all-time list of performers.
** Per Twitter, it was Tomisin's first track & field meet ever. Fantastic.
On a related note, I can report that I'm still strong enough and flexible enough to limbo underneath a bar set at that same height of 5'6".
(Still waiting on, and hoping for the best with respect to, GHSA all-State teams. Might be another week or so if last year is any indication. Huge pool of very good players there.)
