This is the same tournament at which we followed the bronze medal run of Sarah Donovan's Canadian team two years ago.
As long as we’re talking about basketball players who have won bronze medals in world-level competitions, here's some breaking news out of Australia...

** New commit. Suzi-Rose (Rosie) Deegan. 5-9 guard from Perth, Western Australia. c/o 2019.

If that name looks familiar, perhaps it's because you saw it here, next to Adelaide's name.

This is great news for Davidson basketball.

** Welcome to the Wildcat family, Rosie!

Here’s a good photo of color-coordinated 'Cats. I believe it was taken in early January during the official visit.

From one of your previous posts, ccat, doesn't this mean we will have 14 on scholarship next year? I think that it has been reported that we can have as many as 15, but I can't recall us ever having more than 13. Any insight on our projected numbers?

2019-20 Roster

Seniors:
Ally Welling
Andrea Robinson

Juniors
Katie Turner
Sarah Donovan
Kelly Fitzgerald
Alana Davison
Sae Abdul-Aziz

Sophomores
Cassidy Gould
Chloe Welch
Sarah Konstans

Freshmen
Adelaide Fuller
Peyton Carter
Cam Tabor
Rosie Deegan

You are correct that D1 schools can have up to 15 players on scholarship and women's basketball is considered a "head count" sport which means anyone on scholarhip counts towards that number.

I don't recall ever having more than 13 scholarship players. Not sure if Andrea's medical status has contributed to the team getting an "extra" scholarship from the school to use or not.

Thanks. I like the addition as it will help us have a more balanced roster after the 5 members of class of '20 graduate.

I agree with the arithmetic. There are 14 names for 2019-20, and 15 is the NCAA limit, both for scholarships and for head count.

My capacity for intelligent comment on this subject is now exhausted.

Perhaps I'm missing it somewhere, but can you provide the official notification of Deegan's intent to attend Davidson?

Davidson Day School won, 57-29, over Wayne Country Day. Mallorie had 25 and 8.

The NCISAA 2A state title game is tomorrow (Saturday) at 4 pm.

The Patriots will play The O'Neal School (#2 seed) for the 3rd time this season. DDS won both of the previous games, first by 4 pts in a holiday tournament, then by 9 pts at home.

Go Patriots! Go Mallorie!

Westminster Christian Academy also won their game today, over Cherokee Christian School.

I will post the score and the scoring if I find them.

#2 WCA will play in the GICAA Division II-A state title game tomorrow (Saturday) at 3 pm. They will face #1 Central Christian, the defending champs and the team that beat them in last year's state semis.

In the overall Georgia rankings, CC is #54 while WCA is #171, so this will be a challenge. However, the difference in rankings was similar last year, and that game was very close.

Go Lions! Go Sallie!

Another good game, numbers wise, for Peyton last night against BTW, 10 pts, 12 rebs.

I feel compelled to report the 2FG shooting stats of three Nease players:

Tia Robinson 3-5
Peyton Carter 5-8
Camille Hobby 8-13
