6’11 C, redshirt freshman transferring from Colorado. He was a highly touted recruit out of North Dakota.

Excellent news!!! We desperately needed another big man with Rikus transferring and its fantastic to have Joe transferring in with 3 years of eligibility. I dont know how things worked out at Colorado where he didnt play much this past season, but he had very good offers being recruited out of highschool (Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio State, etc.) and looks like he fits into the Davidson offense very well as a bigman who can shoot and be a capable passer.

He was extremely productive in high school:

Congratulations to him and the coaches. He appears to be a great fit. The Davidson system should give him opportunities to shoot it from outside and use his passing skills.

Excellent news. Although you wonder how a kid from North Dakota at CU finds his way to Davidson. Guess the coaches are working hard

His twin brother road the pine at Northwestern (behind Matt Nicholson who averaged 5.3 ppg). A package deal?

This news does NOT make me want to hurl.

His hometown (Enderlin, No. Dak) is listing as having a population of 881 in the 2020 census

I’m intrigued by anybody who averages over 14 rpg (as HS jr and sr!).

Based on the CU practice film I watched, I believe he will contend very strongly for meaningful playing time, especially if he adds another 10 pounds of muscle.

Enderlin dwarfs Hiddenite, where I had my '67 Beetle worked on a few times.

This article says Joe Hurlburt is a college graduate.

And he doesn’t look super skinny in the accompanying photo.
