The year over year drop-off was noticed by all. Hopefully Loughnane and Coval help the FG% and 3P% go up next season. 3p% can't get much worse.

Some surprises here. Most notably, of course, was that the Curry years were not among the highest % in either overall or 3 point shooting. Curious.

Remember that the 3P line was moved back so that accounts for the lower numbers after that happened.

Three Point line moved back after 2007-2008 season
to current distance of 20 feet 9 inches

Not sure on distances but I believe the line moved after 07-08 and again (to the FIBA distance) after the year we played lipscomb in the NIT. I believe we Guinea pigged it in the NIT game.

I haven't been spending much time on this board over the past year for a number of reasons, but I'm still lurking for the most part.

Yes. I had completely forgotten that. It seems to me, also that a previous incarnation of the 3-ppint arc was much shorter (19'6"?). It passed well below the top of the key. Thanks, JoMo. Glad you are still following DCats.

The one below the top of the key was only used by the ACC and the 82-83 season(17.9ft).

17' 9"? Why my grandma could hit....

Seriously, that was too close to even unclog the paint.

The ACC measured 19’ from the backboard. Everybody else measured 19 feet from the origin of the circle that is the rim.

One of the announcers during the Purdue/Gonzaga game just said the Boilermakers were ranked #288 in three-point shooting last year. This year, they were number one in the country. Wow!

If we moved up 287 spots, we'd be in the top 15.
