Their wins didn't pan out as well as they could have...

They beat LSU, a middle of the SEC team.
And SMU, middle of AAC.
St. Johns, middle of big east.
Cincy, bottom of big 12.

Dayton's Massey rating is 40 today. That gets them a 10 seed with no funny business going on, like the time New Mexico made the tournament when their AD was chairman of the selection committee and they had a decent year with no redeeming victories.

Dayton did beat NCAA tourney qualifier Longwood.

Richmond vs. Wake Forest would be a great first round NIT matchup.

It guarantees a formerly Baptist school gets to the 2nd round.

That's how far the A10 has dropped. Our tournament champ gets a 13 seed if it is VCU. Hawks, Dukes, or Bonnies would get a 13 or 14.
