We had a 44-31 lead with 11:23 remaining.

They outscored us 40-19 the last 16:23, including the overtime.

They scored 31 points in the first 38:37.

Look at our players’ +/- and you can figure out who was playing down the stretch.

At some point, one of their players or coaches said, “These guys can’t guard us. Let’s drive on them and see what happens.”

This reminds me of our loss to WCU in the SoCon Tournament Semifinal in 2014. They figured out we couldn’t stay in front of them and blew us out early in the 2nd half.

Seems like 100 years ago driving to Greenville to watch us play Michigan state.

Watched game on delay. Toss this loss back under the poor coaching category. I have seen high school teams prepared better to defeat a 3-2 zone and a press. Again we have trouble in inbounding the ball and players wondering around like their lost. A player again calls time out for no reason under the basket putting us in horrible position. Logan sits the whole OT and poor substitution pattern has our guys run out of gas down the wire. Does anyone remember the last time we ran and inbounds play under our basket where we got a bucket or even a shot off? Sad.

Coaches better hit the road and find portal players…Lots of great QUICK players in lower conferences …

I'd take a Bodo Bodo from HPU. And a Richard Goods from Grimsley High.

Grant deserved better. I predict nothing but success for him in life. He will be missed.

Well, when we were up 13, I thought about posting "It's a low bar, but we're clearly better than Fordham." Then I thought "No, I don't want to jinx us" and decided not to post. Apparently, the mere thought was enough. Sorry, guys, this one's on me.

I can't even imagine a team that could make fewer plays in the last minute that could have put games away over the course of half a season.

If we get even one stop...We did, but they got the offensive rebound.

If Reed makes the 2d FT, Fordham has to take a 3. That makes it much tougher. (We got a bit of a break on that foul call, btw).

I will leave it to the philosophers whether to invoke Sartre or Kafka. For this season, the only exit was losing.

I can tell you when we lost the game. We were up 13 and we gave them 4 shots then fouled, then gave them another possession on a missed free throw. Then they hit a three.

Let's all remember that Davidson lost first round games in the SoCon tournament in consecutive seasons following the Curry era, but this was followed by 4 consecutive regular season championships (3 SoCon and 1 A-10) resulting in 3 tickets to the Dance and one to the NIT. Things will be better next season.

Did that drive and the drive to DC that year for the A10 final. That team was special special. Should've and could've beaten MSU that day. Hauser will haunt me.

I wish that the evidence to support this level of optimism was stronger. In The Portal We Trust. We desperately need some dudes.

When that sequence happened, I looked at Rachel and said that might be the ball game.

I still think a team with average to good talent like Davidson should be able to play some zone to shake up the offense on a run. A great example of this is how Fordham's average team switched to zone and took us totally out or our rhythm. I hate to harp on coaching but when you fall 7 down in overtime, why are you not fouling a team who has been shooting 66% from the line. Again we stood and watched a point guard dribble up top while everyone stayed with their players. We should have trapped aggressively in the backcourt to get either a steal or immediate foul.

I liked Logan's effort and he is a shot blocking force. I still don't like to see a defensive asset like him chasing players above the arch. I can't believe no one has helped him develop 1-3 simple drop step moves to be more of a scoring threat.
