The scoreboard finally has data at 11:38 remaining. It is immediately wrong, failing to give Hunter his 2 points. They fixed it prior to play resuming. It is wrong again as soon as Grant scored. We should quit trying. Or spend the cash to get it right.

At 6:43, Jarvis had no points. He dunked at 8:41.

As I have stated before. We make the simple, little things look so hard.

We haven't had football ref microphones that have worked for the last 10 years.

I can’t imagine we can’t find a student willing to man the scoreboard. Rarely do they even have the lineups right.

Davidson staff assure me that it is a problem of hardware and software, not personnel. One even told me that it would require...wait for it...MONEY to fix it. As you know, we're broke.

I don't think so. We'd have a great D3 football/lacrosse venue. And a really nice basketball venue. A superb track facility planned. Baseball would fit right in.

I sat next to the shot clock guy for the women’s games at their banquet year before last, I think it was. He said that game stats are updated in a timely manner, and the lag for the scoreboard happens elsewhere. You will note that the Gameday app shows up to the minute stats, so things are entered in a timely manner. Early in games the stats reflect some moment in a different team’s game, so they block it out with the square for the app.

A database issue? Tim Dwight would fix that for a reasonable fee. Maybe one or more alums would pay the bill, or at least take him out for Mexican food.

Take the money we aren't spending on Spadone and fix the problem

Or some of the seat ransom. Or some from the person who runs the department that is under-performing. We can be better.

Better tonight. Still poor, but better. After Connor reached 20, scoreboard said 15. They quickly updated to 18 and reached reality during the timeout.

Interesting the team foul count seems to update quickly, but scoring or individual fouls do not.

Team fouls is a direct input from the scoreboard operator just like the time, score, timeouts, etc. and is a direct connect from the input to the board.

The data for individual players feeds from the stats computer which is input by different people and bounces through multiple applications to reach the scoreboard.

Shot clock didn't reset after the ball awkwardly clanged off the rim with a few seconds left.

Sometimes the clownishness can't be attributed to different inputs or multiple applications. One glaring example during the Loyola game was when they previewed upcoming home athletic events on the big screen. They were still advertising the upcoming women's game vs. LaSalle for this weekend.
