Grant didn't deserve to get waylaid but that was a needless play. Just let the clock run down and hand the ball over with three seconds left.
We wouldn't like it if an opponent did that.

Agreed. When the other team isn't defending, don't try to score.

Looked like Duquesne was still guarding, but I'd prefer a shot clock violation to a drive into the lane where autonomic defensive lizard brains tend to take take over.

Great team win. Nice to see Ricky, Rikus, and even Mike contribute in various ways. Ricky’s 4 points especially gave us a nice boost when it was back-and-forth in the first half.

Some timely buckets and hustle plays from Grant, Hunter, and Reed down the stretch to clinch the win. If you can say nothing else about this team, they play hard and want to win 100x more than we want them to win.

They probably don’t complain as much either. :)

+1 and he deserved to be waylaid. That’s twice recently we have tried to score during wind down time.

The Duquesne announcers were much more positive about our team than are our fans represented here.

I missed the first 4 minutes. What happened to their 6'10" Serb, Mahorcic? The play-by-play says he started, subbed out after 3 minutes, and never came back in. Is he just a center jump specialist?

BTW, Duquesne is his 6th school in 6 years.

Important win for our resilient team. We made our shots so we won. Go Cats!

He's too plodding to play against us.

I was wrong about Night Night going 2-19, but I was right that he'd be awful. Someone else suggested "Duh Duh" but that feels too mean.

+1. The announcing crew was surprisingly even-handed in their commentary.

1. The announcers were more positive than many of us because they hadn't seen all our Conf. games coming into tonight.

2. This team never fails to play hard, if not always well. Loyola was a bummer. But credit to the character of this team and the work of our coaches for the unstinting effort that they give. When you have everyone giving their all, there is always hope.
