As long as the women stay at #1 in the nation, you're right.

UNCC/Charlotte defeated Wichita State 72-61 at Halton in a game that was on ESPN2.

The Niners have improved over the season, unlike most years. They have promoted Interim Coach Aaron Fearne to be their Head Coach.

They are 18-7 overall.

See Board Topic, 2023-24 Schedule, for additional details re Niners season success and one home blemish on their exemplary record.

SMU lost at Fla Atlantic in a game that could have boosted their slim at large hopes in the event they got to the American conf. final. It was fairly close game.

Emory Lanier played 19 minutes and scored nine points on 3-3 shooting from three point range. His three point shooting pct is very good this year, albeit on not that many attempts.

He is averaging nine minutes per game and 3.8 ppg. SMU has a NET ranking of 38. We could use him.

The SMU games I have watched, Emory not only shot decently, but also comported himself well on the court otherwise in his limited minutes.

Re: The Wake v Duke court-rushing.

In his HOF speech, Landry declared the court-rushing against Wake to be the last one ever at Belk Arenar.

There are 4 ODAC teams in the NCAA Men's Tournament: Hampden-Sydney, Randolph Macon, Guilford, and Virginia Wesleyan. Davidson played Washington & Lee and Lynchburg of the ODAC this season.

I don't look for us to schedule the top 4 of the ODAC anytime soon.

I went down to Columbia to see Kentucky v. USC.

Absolutely great atmosphere , but not a sellout (pretty close). I think, like many other bldgs, it's too big. (I've heard that they may come close to selling out the women, but I'm not sure). Maybe it was built before the Internet and certainly Smartphones were such a big thing and more people went to games. Wake Forest's arena is also way too big-it was built in the mid/late 80s.

Baylor just built a 7000 seat arena, 3000 seats smaller than the one it replaced. I bet it will get noisy in there. The court is named for a married couple; the deceased husband was the CEO (or something like that) of Oracle. The surviving spouse is now dating Bill Gates. Not for his looks.
Last night was a sellout of 18,000 for the men. Why would you make it smaller? When you consider that men's and women's basketball are their smallest customer when you consider they regularly sellout the arena for concerts, etc. The women have sold out three times this year and expected to sell out rest of season.

Here's my photo from last night.

I just noticed these posts. If you guys were paying attention to the baby race at halftime, the winner was my granddaughter Mila (AKA GameKitten), who smoked the field while crawling her way to victory.

Halftime of Dayton - Loyola game. Des is the leading scorer with 16 points on 6/9 shooting, including 4/5 from beyond the arc. Think we could have used him this year?

Sure, if he'd wanted to be here.

Guilford defeated Berry College 87-70. The Quakers host Penn State-Harrisburg tomorrow night.

Berry is in Rome, Georgia. It was the safety school for public school kids from Rome in our day. Most kids from Rome went to Darlington School, a prep school with no connection to a race track.

Career game for Des.
Dayton shot a higher percentage than Loyola overall, from 3, and on FTs, while outrebounding the Ramblers. But 23 Dayton turnovers gave away the game, 77-72, Loyola.
