The A10 has 3 teams getting votes if you include our women’s team. They moved up to 3 votes today from the 2 they’ve been getting.

The Aspirin for Children might be ranked today had it not been for the loss to Texas A&M Commerce.

Samford got a vote, a single point, in the AP poll. Dayton has 546 points in that poll, good for 16th. Dayton was 17th in the other poll. No other A10 teams got as much attention as Samford did.

With the amount of player turnover that takes place each season, ranking teams gets more difficult. How much do you penalize a team for early season victories if the team gets it act together and wins a lot later in the season? The easy answer if that if they are a major conference squad, they get the benefit of the doubt for early losses. If they are mid or low major, any loss is considered a bad loss.
